* Mystra had announced a lecture on Morisot on the Mages board.
* Naturally I wanted to attend. As I was searching herbs and a bit
* laggy when she announced the start, I came just a bit late.
*

You've entered finely furnished hall. Mages sit in groups together,
listening to other mages holding lectures. This is the seminary hall
in which seminaries about various issues are held. You can get a
<list skills> of all seminaries offered here, and there's also a desk
where you can <pay> your entry fees. If you want to participate in a
seminary, just <train> the thing you want to hear. To the northeast,
there is the main hall of the library. Some comfortable benches
invite you to take a seat along the eastern part of the hall.
You can leave: northeast.
A bulletin board containing fiftyfive notes, a dark green disc, a glowing
purple disc and a massive bookshelf.
Amhas[mage, atlantis] (sitting on a bench), Eljyad[mage, atlantis] (sitting
on a bench), Enaryn[mage, atlantis] (sitting on a bench) and Mystra[mage,
murf, atlantis].

Mystra says in ancient language: Morisot is a big continent, it is so huge
that we explored only one third of it.

Eljyad leans on his staff and listens.

Enaryn frowns slightly.

Mystra says in ancient language: That third has a huge swamp which could
cover whole Atlantis.
Ingtar dances in.

Mystra says in ancient language: It is bigger than all the other...

Mystra greets Ingtar.

Mystra says in ancient language: You came in time.

Ingtar slips quietly into the room.

Amhas greets Ingtar.

Eljyad nods quietly to Ingtar.

Ingtar sit down next to Eljyad, adjusting his robe about him.

Ingtar dips his head to Mystra,

Mystra says in ancient language: Where was I ... ahh the size of Morisot...
well, it is so huge that its landmass would equal all other known areas.
Mystra says in ancient language: We still actively explore parts of it, and I
think our lives will be too short to find all of its secrets.
Eljyad agrees.

Mystra says in ancient language: I just explored a river which flows across
Morisot from northeast to its center a few days ago.
Mystra says in ancient language: The main continent is east of Yucatan, or
west of Primordia.
Mystra says in ancient language: There are also ten smaller islands around it.

Mystra says in ancient language: None of them was explored yet.

Mystra says in ancient language: We explored mostly the northern part of it.

Mystra says in ancient language: Northwest, the land of the Noradim barbarians.

Mystra says in ancient language: It is history now, but we first got news of
Noradim when those barbarians have kidnapped Grandor.
Eljyad nods to Mystra.

Mystra says in ancient language: More about this in the history section...

You emote: Shrinivas silently gasps.
Ingtar chuckles silently.
Mystra says in ancient language: East of Noradim is the Grahn mountains.

Mystra says in ancient language: Beyond the mountains there is a huge swamp,
which is not completely natural.
Mystra says in ancient language: More about it will come in the magic section.

Mystra says in ancient language: Across the swamp to the east is the Gar
Ainion forest.
Mystra says in ancient language: It is a large wilderness, with goblinoids,
but mostly untouched.
Eljyad seems to be slightly unaware of his surroundings for a moment.

Mystra says in ancient language: The elves seem to treat those goblinoids as
game.
Mystra smirks.

Eljyad scratches his head.

Ingtar nods and leans back, resting his staff next to him against the bench.

Mystra says in ancient language: South of Noradim is called Sogradon

Mystra says in ancient language: It is a large plain.

Mystra says in ancient language: Further east is a large forest, I call it
Tituri forest on my maps
Mystra hands out a piece of paper (with text).

Eljyad takes a piece of paper (with text).

Mystra says in ancient language: If you want to see the map, check the bottom
of this paper
Eljyad nods.

Ingtar glances at the parchment in Eljyad's hands.

Eljyad offers a piece of paper (with text) to Ingtar.

Mystra says in ancient language: Tituri forest is also unnatural, like the
swamp, so i'll discuss it in the magic section.
Eljyad gives a piece of paper (with text) to Ingtar.

Ingtar looks at the piece of paper (with text).

Amhas gets a piece of paper (with text).

Mystra says in ancient language: South of the swamp is the Shadow Gorge.

Mystra says in ancient language: Not many went there, for obvious reasons.

Mystra twinkles her eyes at Ingtar.
Enaryn blushes slightly.
Mystra says in ancient language: Ahh.

Ingtar grins softly.

Mystra nods to Enaryn.

You get a piece of paper (with text).

You look at the piece of paper (with text).
This is is small piece of paper. You can <write on paper> to write something on it. Geography There are about ten islands around the main continent which is about the double in size of the Yucatan/Lonar/Tortoise continent. Yet, we explored only one third of it and that size is enormous itself. Just the swamp is big enough to hold whole Atlantis which has its larger southern half unexplored as well. Noradim The northwestern edge holds the remnants of the barbarian empire, now reduced to three villages. There is an ancient elven tomb to the east, and some standing stones on the border of Sogradon. Grahns To the eastern flanks of Noradim you can find the Grahn Mountains. It hosts the last standing fortress of the human empire. It also has goblinoid presence. Sogradon More goblinoid settlement and an ancient battlefield with undead. Large meadows. Threshnish A recently discovered village up in the mountains. It has a mixed gnomish/dwarven population. With the lack of hostile creatures, it seems to be an ideal place for excursions and herb searching. Tangradim The largest settlement of Morisot, somewhat resembling in culture to Padorn. It is a bit larger, but quieter. There is an elven tree village in the park. Tituri Forest This is the dark forest created by druidic magic when the elves couldn't hold their city anymore against the barbarian onslaught. This was the first time the humans received a massive defeat, though it cost the elves greatly. Natumo-i Swamp Just east of the Grahns, another place of defeat for the barbarians. The area is devastated by rune magic the elves developed in desparation. There is a lizardman settlement on the eastern border. And the remnants of a Natumo-i fortress, now called Revenant Castle. Most of Natumo-i has been destroyed, though one can still find ruins northwards in the swamp. Gar Ainion The remaining parts of the elven empire. The forest shelters a village and a city. It also hosts a troll cave and the freemage tower. Shadow Gorge South of part of the swamp and the mountains. It has a large orcish village and a bhaalie fortress. There is also a cave with a big white serpent. Xorlogosh The dwarven settlement in the mountains is unexplored. Gnomes Same could be said about the gnome village. /--------------------------------------------------------- |Noradim Grahns Natumo-i Swamp Gar Ainion | | / |Sogradon Tituri Forest Shadow Gorge | | / Threshnish Xorlogosh | / ----Tangradim bay Gnomes? | | / | ????????????????????????????????????????? / You drop a piece of paper (with text). Mystra says in ancient language: Well, I'll talk about the serpent in the ecology section
Enaryn innocently twiddles his thumbs.

Mystra says in ancient language: Somewhere south of the forest and the shadow
gorge is the valley of Treshnish.
Mystra says in ancient language: It is high up in the mountains.

Mystra says in ancient language: It is a great place for trips and picnic..

Mystra says in ancient language: or even swimming contests.

Eljyad nods slightly with agreement.

You smile interestedly.

Mystra says in ancient language: South of Gar Ainion is also a mountain
range, and in the mountains there is Xorlogosh
Mystra says in ancient language: It is a dwarven settlement which is not yet
explored, as the dwarves seem to closed the mine at one time.
Enaryn nods slightly.

Mystra says in ancient language: We have yet to learn why they did so, or if
they ever open it again.
Eljyad goes hmmmm.

Mystra says in ancient language: I've took a glimpse beyond the gates in
ghost form, so i know they are alive and well.
Mystra says in ancient language: So it might only take time till they realize
that there is a world outside.
Eljyad ponders the situation.

Mystra says in ancient language: As dwarves like to trade, and they'll
obviously need stone and wood from outside, i'm sure they will reopen their city
Mystra says in ancient language: Well, south of Xorlogosh there is not much
to see, the only explored part is Tangradim.
Mystra says in ancient language: It is about in the middle of the whole
continent, to the west.
Mystra says in ancient language: But it is the southernmost explored part.

Mystra says in ancient language: There is nothing explored south of the
Tangradim bay
Mystra says in ancient language: Well, i think that's all about geography in
general.
Mystra says in ancient language: Anyone got additional knowledge, or
clarifications? Or questions?
Eljyad speaks softly in ancient language: I think it was quite clear so far.

Enaryn nods agreeably.

You emote: Shrinivas shyly raises his hand.

Enaryn sings in ancient language: I think we will hear more in history.
Mystra smiles at you.
Mystra says in ancient language: Yes?

You say in xyllic: I was often in Morisot with groups led by Warshrikes or
Satais.
You say in xyllic: They visited a number of places there that I could not
exactly map to your descriptions.
You say in xyllic: Like the lizards den, the revenant castle or the rock
troll caves. Amhas's facial features become tense for a moment.
Mystra says in ancient language: I will touch them in the ecology or history
sections.
You nod understandingly to Mystra.

Ingtar produces a steaming cup of tea from one of his robesleeves.

Mystra says in ancient language: Right now we just discussed geography to put
those things later on the map.
Ingtar blows over the cup before taking a sip.

Eljyad glaces at the cup of tea in Ingtar's hands, then turns back to Mystra.

Eljyad speaks softly in ancient language: I have something to add maybe.

You say in xyllic: I just thought to ask as you mentioned major humanoid
settlements.
Enaryn moves his hands in the required pattern for a spell.
You recognize the spell as food.
Enaryn lifts his hand and a sweet honeycomb appears.
Mystra says in ancient language: But I think it is good to talk about ecology now, then history and then Eljyad talks about trading.
Enaryn moves his hands in the required pattern for a spell.
You recognize the spell as food.
Mystra says in ancient language: And then I finish with magic.

Enaryn lifts his hand and a sweet honeycomb appears.

Enaryn eats a sweet honeycomb.

Mystra says in ancient language: So, if no one has any more questions about
geography, we can jump on the animals and monsters.
Enaryn nods agreeably.

Eljyad speaks softly in ancient language: Ah, just a moment.

Mystra gets a piece of paper (with text).

Mystra drops a piece of paper (with text) into the disc.

Eljyad speaks softly in ancient language: I think that the mountains near
Xorlogosh are climbable with the right equipment.
Mystra says in ancient language: Hmm, really?

Eljyad speaks softly in ancient language: But I didn't explore them so far.

Mystra says in ancient language: That is news to me!

Mystra says in ancient language: We could explore that part on the field
after the sessions.
Eljyad nods slowly.

Mystra says in ancient language: If you have to go, you could tell us a
generic direction.
Mystra says in ancient language: I'm thrilled about this.

Mystra smiles.

Eljyad nods to Mystra.

Mystra says in ancient language: Alright, lets see the monsters.

Enaryn shudders.

Mystra says in ancient language: The animals and monsters are not utterly
alien from life forms we know.
Mystra says in ancient language: There are some exceptions.

Mystra looks at the piece of paper (with text).

Mystra hands out a piece of paper (with text).

Eljyad takes a piece of paper (with text).

Mystra says in ancient language: Check the sketches on this paper if you have
never seen them.
Eljyad goes hmmmm.
Eljyad offers a piece of paper (with text) to Ingtar.
Mystra says in ancient language: The big cat, called lynx, I have not seen it
anywhere else.
Eljyad gives a piece of paper (with text) to Ingtar.

Ingtar puts a piece of paper (with text).

You get a piece of paper (with text).
Ecology While the ecology of Morisot is not largely different from other areas, there are differences. A large cat like predator - lynx - not overly dangerous A glowing bug - firefly - another example for the origin of druidic magic A tough zombie-like creature - revenant - it is the byproduct of mithal magic Swamp ghost - these ghosts fly through people causing horror, also mithal Gallow tree - this one lives on the edge of the mithal destructed area and Shadow Gorge, it is rumoured to be very dangerous, similar to the willow A sentient lizard - lizardman - these form a community in the swamp A large white serpent - this seems to be an albino form of the Turkana serpent Rock troll - a harder troll, don't regenerate so fast but more fireproof You drop a piece of paper (with text). Mystra says in ancient language: Since i first saw those glowing bugs on Morisot, I noticed them in Elohim too.
Enaryn gets a piece of paper (with text).

Mystra says in ancient language: So I'm not sure they are unique to Morisot
anymore.
Eljyad takes a deep breath and looks concentrated.

Mystra says in ancient language: Maybe those druids brought them in
Eljyad nods slowly.
Mystra shrugs.

Mystra says in ancient language: Or they were always around.

Mystra says in ancient language: There are other harmless animals like
ermine, rabbit and wolf.
Enaryn drops a piece of paper (with text).

Ingtar ponderously sets his cup of tea aside.

Amhas gets a piece of paper (with text).

Mystra says in ancient language: Hmm, i forgot the moose.

Mystra says in ancient language: It is a big deer with funny antlers.

Mystra says in ancient language: I have not seen it anywhere else than Noradim

Enaryn mutters in ancient language: Spiders...
Amhas puts a piece of paper (with text).
Mystra says in ancient language: Well, spiders are everywhere.

Mystra smiles at Enaryn.
Eljyad speaks softly in ancient language: Wolves and bears
Eljyad goes hmmmm.
Enaryn looks at the ceiling.
Enaryn nods slightly.

Enaryn sings in ancient language: Indeed...even here.

Mystra says in ancient language: Though the tituri spiders are spawning more
than normal.
Eljyad peers slightly.

Eljyad looks at the ceiling.

Mystra says in ancient language: They are somehow spawning faster than
anywhere.
Eljyad gives you a quick glance.

Mystra giggles fairily... sounds like little bells ringing.

Mystra says in ancient language: Well, the apprentices got a lot of work,
don't blame them.
Ingtar sings in xyllic: One disruptive question that has little to do with
the topic at hand...
Ingtar sings in xyllic: But I fear I will forget it if I do not ask it now.

Mystra says in ancient language: Yes?

Mystra smiles at Ingtar.

Ingtar asks in xyllic: Have the more or less recent changes in our dark
forest here been monitored?
Enaryn frowns seriously.

Mystra says in ancient language: I've visited it regularly.

Ingtar quirks a brow, glancing in the round.

Ingtar nods to Mystra.

Mystra says in ancient language: The changes you noticed are not new, I think.

Ingtar sings to Mystra in xyllic: Then we might talk about it somewhen.

Mystra says in ancient language: Maybe in a separate seminary we could talk
about the ecology of Atlantis compared to Morisot.
Mystra says in ancient language: According to the spiders and the forest,
they are quite similar.
Mystra says in ancient language: Well, I think that was about the harmless
part.
Mystra says in ancient language: Morisot has the same type of goblinoids as
any other continent, so it isn't too interesting.
Mystra says in ancient language: But Morisot also has a semi intelligent
lizard, which is about the same threat as an ogre.
Mystra says in ancient language: luckily they have not learned magic

Eljyad nods.

Mystra says in ancient language: The rock trolls are tougher than normal
trolls, and they are not harmed specifically by any type of magic.
Mystra says in ancient language: The lizards live in a cave near the eastern
edge of the swamp
Mystra says in ancient language: The rock trolls live northeast of Gar Ainion

Mystra says in ancient language: The freemages also live on gar ainion, if
you connect the caves of the rock trolls and the lizards with an imaginary line, it will go across the freemage tower as well.
Enaryn whispers in ancient language: So the Alliance Mages are a crossing of
rock trolls and lizard men...interesting...
Mystra giggles fairily... sounds like little bells ringing.

Eljyad grins slightly.

Mystra says in ancient language: Well, I didn't meant that...

<OOC>: Mystra: but you are convinced she did :P

Enaryn sings in ancient language: Just a mindplay...

<OOC>: Enaryn: ;-)

Eljyad's eyes narrow and focus onto some point in midair.

Mystra says in ancient language: Well, that was about the living ecology

Mystra says in ancient language: There are some special unliving creatures too.

Mystra says in ancient language: The battlefield south of Sogradon has our
regular undead forms.
Mystra says in ancient language: Nightshade, wight, zombie and so on...

Eljyad goes hmmmm.

Ingtar clears his throat.

Ingtar mentions in ancient language: As additional information to rock
trolls, our old friend an ex-colleague Cadderly is often seen hunting in these caves.
Mystra says in ancient language: Athas too, if we are at it.

Enaryn goes hmmmm.

Mystra says in ancient language: And, I lead trips there as well

Ingtar nods solemnly.

Enaryn sings in ancient language: I noticed that Gar Ainion in general is a
target to necromantic activities...
Mystra says in ancient language: I know the rock troll cave so much I could
lead teams there blindfolded.
Mystra says in ancient language: Well, mostly the city, I fear.

Enaryn nods.

Mystra says in ancient language: Xylia and Athas recruit in the city.

Eljyad goes hmmmm.

Mystra says in ancient language: The city of Gar Ainion is reachable north of
the freemage tower, across a cave tunnel.
Mystra says in ancient language: Well, back to undead...

Mystra says in ancient language: The revenants.

Eljyad seems to be slightly unaware of his surroundings for a moment.

Mystra says in ancient language: They are about the same as zombies, but
created by a slightly different process.
Mystra says in ancient language: More about it in the magic section.

Mystra says in ancient language: There are other dangerous creatures
specifically in the Shadow Gorge.
Mystra says in ancient language: The big white serpent lives in a lake in the
northwestern edge of the shadow gorge.
Mystra says in ancient language: Some of us already met it.

Enaryn peers.

Mystra says in ancient language: It is about as strong as the seasnake in
Turkana lake.
Eljyad ponders the situation.

Mystra says in ancient language: No match for a creature and mage, but
deadly for a lonely mage.
Mystra says in ancient language: Then there is the gallow tree.

Mystra says in ancient language: Formerly, there were notes on our board to
not visit the Shadow Gorge due to this plantlike lifeform.
Mystra says in ancient language: Luckily, or not, this creature is dead.

Eljyad speaks softly in ancient language: Dead?

Ingtar nods seriously.

Enaryn sings in ancient language: At least not undead.

Mystra says in ancient language: Yes, i guess it was cut by warriors.

Mystra says in ancient language: It resembles a willow of the thistle marshes.

Mystra says in ancient language: But more fierce.

Eljyad scratches his head.

Mystra says in ancient language: It could grab someone and suck their blood
out.
Mystra says in ancient language: Well, i think it is history, but if it is
not, pray you have a friend with an axe to hack on it.
Mystra says in ancient language: Finally, there are scary ghosts in the swamp
around the gorge.
Mystra says in ancient language: They don't fight you, they just try to fly
right across your body.
Mystra says in ancient language: It is quite chilling experience.

Eljyad speaks softly in ancient language: Not a place for a picnic.

Mystra says in ancient language: Yeah, for picnic I recommend Treshnish or
the clearing in Tituri forest.
Mystra says in ancient language: Now, part of ecology is the sentient people
too.
Mystra says in ancient language: In Noradim mostly humans live.

Mystra says in ancient language: They also got a fortress up in the Grahns.

Mystra says in ancient language: Which also has an orcish village and a
goblin cave in a ravine.
Mystra says in ancient language: Treshnish has a gnomish and dwarven
population, mostly gnomes.
Eljyad nods.

Mystra says in ancient language: Tangradim is mixed, it is quite like Padorn,
but a bit quieter.
Mystra says in ancient language: Xorlogosh is obviously dwarven, but we might
find surprises there.
Mystra says in ancient language: There is a tree city in Gar Ainion forest,
and Gar Ainion itself is fully elven too.
Mystra says in ancient language: Hmm, I think I mentioned all settlements

Mystra says in ancient language: There is a tree village as part of Tangradim
too, which is elven too.
Tunigjot dances in.

Tunigjot nods silently.

Mystra greets Tunigjot.

Tunigjot sits down to rest a while.

Eljyad nods to Tunigjot.

Enaryn nods to Tunigjot.

You smile at Tunigjot.

Mystra says in ancient language: I think this is a good part for Eljyad to
cut in and tell his side.
Mystra sits down on the bench.

Eljyad sits up and clambers to his feet.

Eljyad speaks softly in ancient language: Ah, thank you Mystra.

Mystra says in ancient language: Then I'll continue with magic.

Eljyad speaks softly in ancient language: So far an interesting seminary it
is.
Eljyad speaks softly in ancient language: Maybe I can add that there are
small settlements and pubs near the roads sometimes.
Eljyad speaks softly in ancient language: Anyway, the economical situation in
Morisot is far from being developed like what we know from the other regions of the world.
Eljyad speaks softly in ancient language: In general trade and economy exists
only on a very small scale and locally.
Eljyad speaks softly in ancient language: The exception might be Tangradim, a
large city with interesting shops.
You overhear Mystra whispering to Tunigjot in ancient language: The disc
contains the topics I talked so far.
Mystra looks at the dark green disc.

Mystra gets a piece of paper (with text).
Eljyad goes hmmmm.
Mystra puts a piece of paper (with text) onto the disc.

Eljyad speaks softly in ancient language: We find a tradepost of the
merchants guild in Noradim.
Eljyad speaks softly in ancient language: Tangradim seems not to be ready so
far.
Enaryn tries to cover Tunigjot's ears.

Tunigjot grins at Enaryn.

Eljyad speaks softly in ancient language: And all other places are not easy
to access.
Eljyad speaks softly in ancient language: Maybe that can change in the
future, who knows.
Eljyad speaks softly in ancient language: We can find quarries near Xorlogosh
and I think that the gnomes are busy with crafting things.
Mystra nods.

Eljyad speaks softly in ancient language: But no one seems to trade or to
exchange wares, which might be due to the large distances.
Mystra says in ancient language: There is a mine in Treshnish which is
visited by our dwarves.
Eljyad goes hmmmm.

Mystra says in ancient language: Some are even dare to push a wheelbarrow all
across the continent.
Enaryn laughs slightly.

Eljyad speaks softly in ancient language: Xorlogosh might contain lots of
gems and metals, but we don't know that and since the gates are closed we cannot access this part anyway.
Mystra nods sadly.

Eljyad speaks softly in ancient language: So, the only place to trade somehow
professionally is Noradim village.
Eljyad speaks softly in ancient language: They demand usually beer and other
alcohol. And you can get honey there.
Eljyad speaks softly in ancient language: And, that might be worth some
mention, you can buy there also amber.
Tunigjot nods knowingly.

Mystra looks at the small amber amulet.

Eljyad speaks softly in ancient language: It seems that amber can be found
there in rather large quantities, while it is unknown elsewhere.
Tunigjot nods to Eljyad.

Mystra says in ancient language: At least not such a large quantity.

Eljyad goes hmmmm.

Eljyad speaks softly in ancient language: Well, the tradepost sells several
hundred pieces in a good month.
Mystra whistles appreciatively.

Eljyad's eyes narrow and focus onto some point in midair.

Mystra says in ancient language: What is it used for in such a large quantity?

Eljyad speaks softly in ancient language: Usually it is used for fancy things.

The disc falls to the ground and disappears.

Mystra raises her arms and mumbles some arcane syllables.
You recognize the spell as disc.
Mystra mutters some ancient words and draws a horizontal circle into the air.
As she snaps her fingers, the circle is filled with a solid disc.
Eljyad speaks softly in ancient language: People seems to like the look and
touch of it.
Mystra gets two pieces of paper (with text).

Mystra drops two pieces of paper (with text) into the disc.

Amhas makes a gesture.
The disc falls to the ground and disappears.
Eljyad speaks softly in ancient language: But all in all, I would say that
with regards of trading, this continent is quite undeveloped.
Tunigjot nods agreeably.

Mystra says in ancient language: With regards of magic, Noradim is quite
hostile too.
Enaryn nods wildly.

Eljyad goes hmmmm.

Eljyad speaks softly in ancient language: Do you have any questions?
Otherwise I would sit down again.
Mystra says in ancient language: Hmm, I had some, but...

Mystra says in ancient language: Ahh yes...
Eljyad nods to Mystra.
Mystra says in ancient language: Any ideas about building a sea connection to
Gar Ainion?
Mystra says in ancient language: Maybe the merchants could sponsor such an
endeavour.
Mystra says in ancient language: There is a quarry south of Gar Ainion

Mystra says in ancient language: And maybe the elves would allow to build a
stone road with harbour to the northeast.
Eljyad speaks softly in ancient language: There is indeed, but so far there
are no such plans. It would be much easier to trade with Trangradim.
Mystra says in ancient language: Actually, I know a passage to the eastern
sea south of Gar Ainion.
Mystra says in ancient language: It is just uncared for and closed by boulders

Mystra says in ancient language: Three trading posts would be better than one
or two.
Mystra twinkles her eyes.

Eljyad nods to Mystra.

Mystra says in ancient language: and a harbour to the northeast would be fun

Eljyad speaks softly in ancient language: Maybe you can show me that passage
once.
Mystra nods.

Mystra says in ancient language: It is near to Xorlogosh so we can do both
field studies soon.
Eljyad nods.

Eljyad speaks softly in ancient language: Any more questions?

Mystra thankfully shakes her head.
Eljyad glances around.
Eljyad speaks softly in ancient language: Then I will sit down again.

Eljyad sits down on the bench.

Mystra flutters with her wings, lifts a bit up and lands on her feet.

Mystra says in ancient language: Thanks for your part.

Eljyad nods.

Mystra says in ancient language: Well, I earlier said that I'll speak about
magic, but, in fact first I have to talk about history.
Mystra says in ancient language: It covers why the Noradim people are hostile
to magic too.
Mystra says in ancient language: So... in the beginning Morisot had elves and
dwarves.
Mystra says in ancient language: They lived in peace, and they had commercial
relations of sorts.
Mystra says in ancient language: The elves let the dwarves mine in the quarry
and cut trees for their mines.
Mystra says in ancient language: In exchange they got metal tools from the
dwarves.
Mystra says in ancient language: Gnomes appeared too, and they all were in
peace.
Mystra says in ancient language: The gnomes created complex tools for the
mines, I guess.
Eljyad nods slightly.

Mystra says in ancient language: All this peace was shattered by the humans
who arrived from northwest.
Mystra says in ancient language: I don't know from where they came.

Mystra says in ancient language: West of Morisot is Yucatan, but the Noradim
people don't even resemble those.
Mystra says in ancient language: So well, they came on longships and settled
in the area now called Noradim.
Mystra says in ancient language: They fought against the elves, who had ruled
most of the land, as it was mostly forest.
Mystra says in ancient language: The humans conquered Tituri, a very large
elven settlement.
Eljyad goes hmmmm.

Mystra says in ancient language: It was around the place now i call Tituri
forest
Eljyad nods to Mystra.

Mystra says in ancient language: The humans cut all the trees, and built
their city called Dolin. They used the wood for their ships and houses.
Mystra says in ancient language: The elves didn't know how to fight.

Mystra says in ancient language: And they had no offensive magic either.

Mystra says in ancient language: They had magic we would classify as nature
or healing.
Mystra says in ancient language: So first they fought using magic from this
field.
Mystra says in ancient language: They created the tituri forest which scared
the humans.
Mystra says in ancient language: Summoned, or enlarged spiders.

Mystra says in ancient language: Enchanted the rivers to became poisonous or
terribly cold.
Mystra says in ancient language: And surrounded the forest with a living hedge.

Mystra says in ancient language: There were also harmless illusions woven in
the fabric of magic there.
Eljyad ponders the situation.

Mystra says in ancient language: But all of these otherwise harmless things
combined to a deadly and frightening experience to the people of Noradim.
Mystra says in ancient language: They lost dolin.

Mystra says in ancient language: And they started to hate magic.

Mystra says in ancient language: Dolin was their capital, afterall.

Mystra says in ancient language: They pushed further east in revenge.

Mystra says in ancient language: There was a sorceress in an elven forest who
wanted to halt this wave.
Mystra says in ancient language: They developed rune magic of sorts.

Mystra says in ancient language: It would be classified as manipulation in
our terminology.
Mystra says in ancient language: Forcefields, lightning rods and such.
Eljyad goes hmmmm.
Mystra says in ancient language: These alone didn't stop the conquerors, so
the sorceress sacrificed herself and everything alive around for a single hit of magical force.
Mystra says in ancient language: It sucked the life out of everything, elves,
humans, plants.
Mystra says in ancient language: It created the swamp and the revenants.

Mystra says in ancient language: The elven sorceress became a banshee.

Mystra says in ancient language: This fortress is known as revenant fortress
nowadays.
Mystra says in ancient language: It is on the eastern edge of the swamp.

Tunigjot thinks about it, then his face brightens.

Mystra says in ancient language: The elven settlement around this place was
called Natumo-I.
Mystra says in ancient language: If you want to inquire in Gar Ainion.

Mystra says in ancient language: The librarian knows a lot of things.

Mystra says in ancient language: Cities of the past include: Tituri, Dolin,
Naph'Tal and Natumo-I.
Mystra says in ancient language: Well, after this large magical strike, I
guess the unleashed forces attracted Bhaalies.
Eljyad scratches his head.

Mystra says in ancient language: But there is little to know about the
creation of the Shadow Gorge.
Mystra says in ancient language: The elves talk about some dark mage, but
little is known.
Mystra says in ancient language: That's all about history I learned.

Mystra reads a note titled 'Karadesh'.

Eljyad speaks softly in ancient language: Couldn't it be the other way? That
this sorcoress got ensnared by Bhaal in her search for more and more power to defend her lands?
Mystra hands out a piece of paper (with text).

Mystra says in ancient language: not likely

Enaryn gets a piece of paper (with text).

Eljyad speaks softly in ancient language: That wouldn't be the first time.

Enaryn drops a piece of paper (with text).

Eljyad speaks softly in ancient language: And it would explain a lot of other
things as well.
You get a piece of paper (with text).

History of Morisot
The elves and dwarves were the first on Morisot. They lived in relative peace and had successful commercial relations. The elves let the dwarves of Xorlogosh mine stone and cut some tree in the Gar Ainion forest for their mines. The dwarves in turn provided gems and metal. Gnomes appeared somewhen later settling in the southeastern parts. There is little information on them, as they live in the inaccessible parts of Morisot. Lastly humans arrived via the sea on dragonships. They settled on the northwestern part called Noradim. The elves have already established a sprawling empire and let the humans settle. Some of the humans did accept their help, and established Tangradim. But the northern tribes did wage a war on the elves, slowly pushing them towards east. The wars completely destructed Tituri and Natumo-i, two cities larger than Gar Ainion. It is important to mention that there is no fairy presence on Morisot, except some familiar scenes in the Tituri forest. Whether the fairies are extinct due to the human wars, or they never set foot on Morisot is a question. The elves also mention some #[1;31mnecro#[0mmancer or evil mage who created the great rift in the mountains now called Shadow Gorge. The exact time and details are unknown, I just only suspect it was Toran. You drop a piece of paper (with text). Mystra says in ancient language: The magic that created the revenants is not quite the same as Bhaal magic.
Eljyad goes hmmmm.

Mystra says in ancient language: It could be that the magical strike went
astray due to interference from Bhaal or a necromancer
Mystra says in ancient language: Maybe, but I think we'll never learn if the
swamp was created intentionally or something went wrong.
Eljyad nods.

Eljyad speaks softly in ancient language: I think that something went wrong,
that the elves didn't want to create such a thing.
Mystra says in ancient language: I think the last paper is just a recap of
all of these things focused on magic
Mystra puts a piece of paper (with text).

Enaryn gets a piece of paper (with text).

Enaryn drops a piece of paper (with text).

Mystra says in ancient language: So, if you all read it fast, and memorize I
would not talk more.
Mystra twinkles her eyes.

Mystra says in ancient language: It is a bit tiring

Mystra grins.

Eljyad asks Mystra in ancient language: Do you know something about the
history of Tangradim? The people there mention some sort of portal to the south which is now closed.
Amhas gets a piece of paper (with text).

Amhas puts a piece of paper (with text).

Eljyad speaks softly in ancient language: But in the old times hordes of
undead poured out of it and unleashed an attack.
Mystra says in ancient language: No, but elves talk about the shadow gorge as
being south everywhere.
Mystra says in ancient language: I think that is the Shadow Gorge, but elves
of Tangradim are disoriented.
Eljyad goes hmmmm.

<OOC>: Mystra: at least that's what i think, all elves talk of the same
topics regardless of position :)
Eljyad speaks softly in ancient language: But the other people of Tangradim
are talking about it too. It might be something different.
Mystra says in ancient language: Hmm, well, I'll ask around.

Eljyad smiles.
You say in ancient language: Maybe they always reference Gar Ainon for directions?
Mystra says in ancient language: I strongly hope there is no ANOTHER gorge or
portal.
Mystra says in ancient language: As Morisot is damn huge, it could be.

Ingtar's fingers move around, tracing magical patterns.
You recognize the spell as telec.
Mystra says in ancient language: Primordia has more Bhaalie activity too.

Eljyad nods.

Mystra says in ancient language: And Morisot is larger than Primordia.

Mystra says in ancient language: Ahh.

Mystra says in ancient language: I forgot an important part.

Mystra says in ancient language: The rocks.

Mystra says in ancient language: Two of the recently fallen rocks are on
Morisot.
Mystra says in ancient language: Those rocks form an one direction portal
with an entry and an endpoint.
Mystra says in ancient language: Touching the rock at the entry point will
poof you to the endpoint, you'll be ripped of magic or even life essences and sometimes even memories of teleport spots.
Mystra says in ancient language: Tashala touched many of those rocks, and she
herself admitted she feels very strange.
Mystra says in ancient language: She adviced everyone to not touch them,
especially not mages.
Eljyad speaks softly in ancient language: Indeed!

Mystra says in ancient language: And I agree with that.

Eljyad speaks softly in ancient language: Until we do not know the origin of
them or how they work it would be better not to use them.
Mystra says in ancient language: Anyway, there is a rock in grasslands which
teleports one to a cave near Treshnish.
Mystra says in ancient language: And another rock in eastern Morisot, near
Xorlogosh which teleports one to the mountains of Solitude in Clouds.
Mystra says in ancient language: Well, I guess, I transferred all my
knowledge I recall.
Mystra says in ancient language: Anyone has additions, clarifications or
questions?
Amhas yells in ancient language: I have a question.

Mystra nods to Amhas.

Amhas yells in ancient language: It has been several years since I was in
Morisot last, but I had the impression that most animals and also the goblinkind there were larger and stronger than their cousins elsewhere in the world.
Eljyad's eyes narrow and focus onto some point in midair.

Mystra says in ancient language: I didn't really noticed that, except
regarding the trolls.
Eljyad nods to Amhas.

Eljyad speaks softly in ancient language: Yes, the orcs and ogres are
stronger, quite true.
Mystra says in ancient language: But it might be.

Enaryn sings in ancient language: Much stronger I'd say.

Eljyad speaks softly in ancient language: Maybe it is because the land is
wilder.
You say in ancient language: From personal experience I may add that the
goblins in the ravine cave are stronger than other goblins as well Mystra says in ancient language: Well, the elves hunt the goblinoids but don't wage war on them, probably they kill the weaker ones every time thus evolving them slowly.
Mystra says in ancient language: It might even be a deliberate action to
scare the humans
Amhas nods slowly.

Ingtar looks at the dull golden disc.

Ingtar gets a piece of paper (with text) from the disc.

Amhas yells in ancient language: When I was a bard and would spend some time
with my companion, I usually travelled to Morisot to charm a bear there.
Ingtar puts a piece of paper (with text) onto the disc.

Ingtar glances about.

Ingtar asks in ancient language: Now where is that paper concerning the magic
part?
Mystra shrugs.

You get a piece of paper (with text).

Druidic magic
It is mainly practiced by the elves, but some humans also practice it. The humans try to hide, maybe even unconsciously, that it is indeed a kind of magic - manipulation of natural forces. The origin of this magic must be the ancient Morisot elven magical art of healing and other nature oriented spells. They were also masters of summoning and taming natural animals or even elementals. The best examples of druidic magic are in the dark forest of Tituri. The humans of Noradim think of the suddenly appearing forests and spiders in horror, but in fact this kind of mild magic was the worst of druidic magic the ancient elves performed. This kind of magic tries to alter nature in the least way, and never harms or even seriously twists the fabric of nature. The worst you can experience is animated, semi-conscious plantlife and heavily spawning spiders, Atlantis forest produces these without much druidic influence. Rune magic, mithal Druidic magic didn't save the elves who were pushed further east, past the Grahns. In desperation, they experimented with a different kind of magic. Probably this kind of magic is closer to our enchantments, which could imbue runes with different kind of power, destructive or mild as well. The destruction of Natumo-i might have been a failure or intentional, I don't know. It definitely disturbed the fabric of magic around the swamp, though it didn't create a permanent conduit to the lower planes. Necromancy on Morisot There is little known about it. I suspect that the cataclysm of Natumo-i drew the attention of some necromancer, who further widened the hole in the fabric of magic. This created the Shadow Gorge. It is yet to be determined if these activities are still going on, or the bhaalies just took over the place without further worsening the situation. You drop a piece of paper (with text). Mystra says in ancient language: Any other questions?
Ingtar sings in ancient language: Thank you.

Mystra says in ancient language: If there are no questions, we could continue
with the field study
Eljyad nods slowly.

Enaryn eats a sweet honeycomb.

You ask in ancient language: You think I could come along or should I stay
behind?
Mystra says in ancient language: I'm really interested in that climbable
mountain.
Tunigjot sings in xyllic: I will have to rest.

Enaryn sings in ancient language: I rest, too.

Amhas yells in ancient language: I will stay and practise my spells.

Eljyad speaks softly in ancient language: First some tools should be gathered.

Enaryn nods to Amhas.
Mystra says in ancient language: Uhm.
Tunigjot sings in xyllic: I hope there will be a transcript.

Tunigjot stretches his legs and stands up gracefully.

Mystra says in ancient language: So the field study means, Eljyad shows me
the climbing site.
Mystra smirks.

Enaryn grins.

Enaryn stretches his legs and stands up gracefully.

Ingtar stretches his legs and stands up gracefully.
Eljyad grins slightly.
Eljyad sits up and clambers to his feet.
Tunigjot bows. Mystra says in ancient language: Well, thank you for attendance
Eljyad speaks softly in ancient language: If I find these places.

Eljyad waves friendly.
Tunigjot sings in xyllic: Thank you for the knowledge imparted.
Tunigjot smiles.

Ingtar sings in ancient language: Quite interesting seminary, thank you for
your effort. Ingtar dips his head.
