You know it's the 22.2.308 A.F. - a Silverday in the early autumn month of
Serpent, 308 years after the big fire of Padorn.

This is a small room with a desk on the western wall. On the desk, there
is a small kettle, which seems to be used for various experiments. It is
also filled with equipment for magical experiments of all kind. The desk
is the only piece of furniture here. On the ground, there is a drain. The
room appears to be pretty plain. On the backside of this room, a pedestal has
been placed. There is a huge tome on it.
You can leave: northeast, east.
A black heavy briquette, a silver coin, a dark green disc, a dull yellow
disc, two fancy gems, a huge tome, two ornamental gems, a precious gem, a
purple snail's shell, four semiprecious gems, a small device, a small
kettle and a small metal block.
Pilith[mage, atlantis].

< Atlantis Magicians > Ligeia: Where will the execution take place ?
< Atlantis Magicians > Miriadriel: looool
< Atlantis Magicians > Ligeia: Ermm... examination, I meant
< Atlantis Magicians > Tunigjot: @20 minutes
< Atlantis Magicians > Shrinivas: a post mortem one I guess?
< Atlantis Magicians > Pilith: not when Sir, but where? inside? outside at the
fountain? in the pavilion?
< Atlantis Magicians > Ligeia: Or Padorn at the gallows ;)
< Atlantis Magicians > Ligeia: Torture chamber then, alright
< Atlantis Magicians > Tunigjot: you know the way I trust ?
< Atlantis Magicians > Khorin: ah, you mean the examination of the
disrespectful and undisciplined flutterbug?

*
* Khorin took a habit of insulting the fairy apprentices as flutterbugs...
*

< Atlantis Magicians > Shrinivas: Yes, Bunny.

*
* Well, I for one didn't let that go unchallenged either. Bunny is joke
* as Khorin once claimed to haven't heard our greetings over the guildline
* and it was proposed he should get ears similar to an elves. He said he
* then would look like a rabbit. Hence his nickname 'Bunny'.
*
< Atlantis Magicians > Khorin: you should be careful...

Pilith replies in ancient language: not sure whether that was a wise reply.

< Atlantis Magicians > Shrinivas: I am

< Atlantis Magicians > Miriadriel: Well, if 'whippsnappish elf' is an affront in
Tashala's eyes, I dont know what 'Bunny' is
< Atlantis Magicians > Khorin: That is what i meant

You say in ancient language: As long as he calls me flutterbug, I call him
Bunny. Simple as that.

Pilith asks you in ancient language: Ever heard of respect for elders?
Pilith shrugs.
Pilith replies in ancient language: It's your choice, and your promotion.
You say in ancient language: Sure, but the elders should not constantly
ridicule the youngers either
You say in ancient language: Aye, it is.

*
* Moving to the Seminary Hall, where the exam is taking place.
*

You've entered finely furnished hall. Mages sit in groups together,
listening to other mages holding lectures. This is the seminary hall
in which seminaries about various issues are held. You can get a
of all seminaries offered here, and there's also a desk
where you can your entry fees. If you want to participate in a
seminary, just the thing you want to hear. To the northeast,
there is the main hall of the library. Some comfortable benches
invite you to take a seat along the eastern part of the hall.
You can leave: northeast.
A bulletin board containing fiftythree notes and a massive bookshelf.
Miriadriel[mage, atlantis, eryniel] (sitting on a bench) and Tunigjot[mage,
beluboo, atlantis, thiri] (sitting on a bench).
A disc hovers in.
Ligeia arrives.
Miriadriel giggles.
Tunigjot sings in xyllic: Aha ...They are coming in.
Ligeia sits down on the bench.
You emote: Shrinivas nervously twiddles his thumbs.
Miriadriel sings softly in ancient language: I'm really curious how that works
Tunigjot sings to you in xyllic: It won't hurt......much.
Miriadriel sings softly in ancient language: I never have been at a promotion
before
Miriadriel sings softly in ancient language: Well not at a promotion test
Tunigjot asks you in xyllic: Any last minute questions?
Tunigjot sings to you in xyllic: And no we can't make Ligeia leave.
Tunigjot grins at Ligeia.
Ligeia snickers silently.
Miriadriel sings softly in ancient language: I got a question
Miriadriel giggles.
You ask Tunigjot in ancient language: Only how to create such a nice
personalized staff that many use.
Miriadriel sings softly in ancient language: Although I was not asked
You say to Ligeia in ancient language: I wouldn't dare to ask that anyone be
NOT here and test me.
Tunigjot sings to you in xyllic: The woodcutter in hearts can do this for you.
Miriadriel sings softly in ancient language: Ask for one in the hall before
the lib and then get it carved.
You say in ancient language: So I can just have my current one ornamented?
Tunigjot nods to you.
You say in ancient language: That is really nice.
Miriadriel smiles.
You ask in ancient language: Will runes that are on it be affected?
Tunigjot sings in xyllic: I don't believe so.
Tunigjot sings in xyllic: It's been so long since I had mine done.
Ligeia yells to you in xyllic: If you got a carvable staff, you can let it
have carved for you. If not, no. And runes stay on the staff... they are
applied by magic and can only be removed through the same knowledge
You thank Ligeia.
You say to Tunigjot in ancient language: I improved my spellknowledge even a
bit further since we last met.

You overhear Miriadriel whispering to Tunigjot in ancient language: How does
that work here? I dont know the normal procedure cause I never attended a
test before
Tunigjot nods happily to you.
Ligeia takes a deep breath and looks concentrated.
Khorin slips in.
Bunro arrives.
A disc hovers in.
Khorin sits down to rest a while.
Khorin smiles.
Khorin nods slightly.
You bounce around.
Ligeia snaps her fingers.
You hug Khorin.
Tunigjot says to Miriadriel in xyllic: We get started in a bit, it will be
pretty straight forward.
Bunro starts moving northeast.
Bunro leaves northeast.
You say in ancient language: Thanks for comming.
Miriadriel tickles Khorin.
You overhear Miriadriel whispering to Tunigjot in ancient language: Who's
doing what?
Tunigjot closes his eyes and looks concentrated.
Tunigjot sings in xyllic: First we all wait and then we will get started.
Tunigjot grins benevolently at Miriadriel.
Khorin sits down on the bench.
Ligeia silently mumbles in xyllic: There are many directions that forward can
lead to...
Miriadriel sings softly in ancient language: Do you ever answer my questions?
Pilith arrives.
Pilith sits down on the bench.
Tunigjot sings to Miriadriel in xyllic: Yes last time it was when you asked
me to put you up for promotion that I answered you.
Tunigjot grins at Miriadriel.
Pilith looks at the disc.
Pilith looks at the dark green disc.
Khorin takes a deep breath and looks concentrated.
Tunigjot grins at Khorin.
Miriadriel sings softly in ancient language: Grrrrr. You know quite well which
questions I mean.
Mortarth dances in.
An ice-blue white-golden female creature arrives.
Khorin takes a deep breath and looks concentrated.
Tunigjot sings in xyllic: Summoning masters these days.
Pilith greets Mortarth.
Miriadriel sings softly in ancient language: I never had a test
Mortarth sits down on the bench.
The ice-blue white-golden female creature sits down on the bench.
Tunigjot smiles at Miriadriel.
The ice-blue white-golden female creature says in ancient language: Mood
changed.
Miriadriel sings softly in ancient language: So it's quite normal I ask how
the procedure is.
You ask Mortarth in ancient language: May I ask for the name of your
companion?
Tunigjot says to Miriadriel in xyllic: Just wait 'till we get there you will
see.
Mortarth nods.
Tunigjot smiles at Miriadriel.
The ice-blue white-golden female creature says in ancient language: I'm
Aranaeth Graiyoneth.
Tunigjot closes his eyes and looks concentrated.
Tunigjot sings in xyllic: very well.
< Atlantis Magicians > Enaryn: Beware.
Enaryn dances in.
Enaryn sits down on the bench.

*
* Seems we are finally more or less complete.

A bulletin board containing fiftythree notes, a dark green disc, a disc and
a massive bookshelf.
Aranaeth[creature, mortarth] (sitting on a bench), Enaryn[mage, atlantis,
casoria] (sitting on a bench), Khorin[atlantis, mage, bunro] (sitting on a
bench), Ligeia[mage, atlantis] (sitting on a bench), Miriadriel[mage,
atlantis, eryniel] (sitting on a bench), Mortarth[emerald_guard, mage,
atlantis, aranaeth] (sitting on a bench), Pilith[mage, atlantis] (sitting
on a bench) and Tunigjot[mage, beluboo, atlantis, thiri] (sitting on a
bench).
Enaryn smiles silently.
Miriadriel seems to be slightly unaware of her surroundings for a moment.

< Atlantis Magicians > Tunigjot: It is 9 am we will get started in the semiary
hall for Shrinivas's promotion hearing.

Tunigjot stretches his legs and stands up gracefully.
Enaryn asks in xyllic: Oh, it has not yet started?
Enaryn chuckles.
Tunigjot sings in xyllic: Right.
You say in ancient language: Not yet.
Avery flutters in.
Enaryn sings in xyllic: Heck, and I ran...
Avery smiles happily.
Avery sits down on the bench.
Enaryn looks at Ligeia.
Tunigjot walks towards the front of the room.
Enaryn smiles slightly.
Tunigjot asks you in xyllic: Would you be so kind to join me?
You emote: Shrinivas joins Tunigjot in the center of the room.
Enaryn seems to be slightly unaware of his surroundings for a moment.
Ligeia takes a deep breath and looks concentrated.
Miriadriel closes her eyes and looks concentrated.

*
* And so the promotion exam starts...
*

Tunigjot sings in xyllic: As you all know Shrinivas had been my student for
some time now and he diligently learned our ways. Well at least I believe so.
Mortarth draws a circle into the air with his hands, while he begins to
mumble some arcane words.
You recognize the spell as shield.
Mortarth is suddenly surrounded with a glowing white aura.
You are blushing professionally.
Enaryn raises his eyebrow at Mortarth.
Enaryn's eyes narrow and focus onto some point in midair.
Mortarth points at Aranaeth.
Tunigjot sings in xyllic: The time has come that I feel he his ready for
promotion and so I have asked for this meeting.
Enaryn winks at Mortarth.
Tunigjot sings in xyllic: To give all of you the opportunity to convince
yourself of his worthiness to join us as a master mage.
Tunigjot sings in xyllic: So without further delay I would ask all of you to
feel free to ask questions of Shrinivas to convince yourself he is ready.
Tunigjot sings in xyllic: Please raise your hand to ask questions.
Enaryn smiles waitingly.
Tunigjot sings in xyllic: I will give you the floor and we can do this with
some resemblance of order.
Ligeia raises both hands.
Ligeia snickers silently.
Enaryn chuckles inwardly.
Tunigjot sings in xyllic: Very well Ligeia.
Tunigjot smiles encouragingly.
Avery gets a blue stone from the backpack.

Ligeia yells to you in xyllic: Topic number one: Magic.

Miriadriel gets a waterskin (1l) from the bandolier.
Miriadriel drinks from a waterskin (0l).
Miriadriel attaches a waterskin (0l) to her bandolier.

You emote: Shrinivas turns, facing Ligeia.

Ligeia asks you in xyllic: Please tell us about the various concepts and ways
of magic. Who can use magic and why ?

Tunigjot nods encouragingly to you.

Ligeia twiddles her thumbs.

You say in ancient language: Apart from the scholary form of magic, the magic
that comes from studying the arcane knowledge handed down in form of scrolls,
tomes and oral knowledge, namely the form of magic we mages use, there are
two other forms of magic, if we assume that what priests accomplish in the
name of their god, is not magic.
You say in ancient language: Oh, please excuse me, I meant three other forms.
You are blushing.
You say in ancient language: The magic of the bards, the psionics and the
druids. That later were the ones I almost forgot.
You are blushing.
Tunigjot smiles at you.

You say in ancient language: The magic the bards use is based on the emotions
and feelings their songs, consisting of melody and lyrics usually, invoke in
those that listen to them.

You say in ancient language: The druids try to achieve a unique form of
bonding with nature, to become one with nature, if I understood Tai, the only
druid I met in person, correctly.
Enaryn slightly wrinkles his forehead.
You say in ancient language: Hence the druids draw their power from nature
itself, which weakens their powers to basically non existance in urban areas
and grants them great powers in the wild, untamed nature, such as the jungle.

You say in ancient language: Psionics try to structure their mind through
various forms of meditation and this control over their own mind and their
body grants them abilities that are commonly perceived to have effects
similar to what we call magic.

Tunigjot nods slowly.

Ligeia yells in xyllic: Well, so you have covered three other forms of
magic... are you sure that there are not more ?

You say in ancient language: The priests gain their power from divine forces.
In order to access this power, they need to perform certain duties, one could
say they bribe their deity, in order to be allowed to work their miracles

You say in ancient language: Well, there is also necromancy.
You shiver.

Enaryn coughs.
Avery carefully polishes his dragonfly wings and wipes off the dust of his
travels.
Ligeia nods slowly.
Ligeia yells in xyllic: And what else ?

You say in ancient language: But necromancy as far as I know works oposite to
magic, destroying its flow, therefore it would be rather anti-magic than
magic itself.

You say in ancient language: Hmm. Let me see.
You say in ancient language: Magic, as the mages use it, bardic songs,
psionic control over mind and body, druidic powers from harmony with nature,
godly powers through divine help and necromancy.
Ligeia nods slowly.
You say in ancient language: No, I fear those are the ones I know.
Ligeia yells in xyllic: Still, at least one is missing
Enaryn nods slightly.
Ligeia yells in xyllic: There exist lifeforms on this plane of this world who
have magic abilities beyond our and even their own understanding
Ligeia asks in you xyllic: Maybe you have an idea about what I am
talking ?
You emote: Shrinivas thinks on it and his face brightens.
You ask Ligeia in ancient language: Would you mean beings from different
planes of existance, such as daemons, elementals and the mages ceratures?

Ligeia yells in xyllic: I said: this plane
You are blushing profusely.

You say in ancient language: Well, I think I read somewhen something about
demigods, but I don't think one walked these lands for a long long time, so
they might no longer be around.
Ligeia shakes her head.
You say in ancient language: Then I don't know.
Ligeia yells in xyllic: The demigods acquired their knowledge through studies
as well...

You ask Ligeia in ancient language: Please enlighten me.

Ligeia yells in xyllic: But well... maybe someone else wants to continue the
torture while you are thinking about it
Ligeia snickers silently.

Tunigjot smiles at Ligeia.
Tunigjot asks in xyllic: ok, who is next?
Enaryn looks at Khorin.
Enaryn points at Khorin.
Khorin raises his hand.
Khorin snickers evilly.
Tunigjot sings in xyllic: Very well Khorin.
Khorin asks you in ancient language: Whatdoyouthinkaboutdisciplineandrespect?

*
* For clarity: What do you think about discipline and respect?
*

Tunigjot chuckles silently.
You grin wickedly.
Miriadriel giggles.
Khorin peers at you.
Miriadriel mumbles something bout worms and toes.

You emote: Shrinivas faces Khorin.
You say in ancient language: Respect is necessary and usually mutual.
You say to Khorin in ancient language: There are different forms of respect.
Pilith slightly raises her eyebrow.
Tunigjot mumbles I will have to remember that next time I call Tashala "old
lady".
Tunigjot coughs silently.
Enaryn closes his eyes and looks concentrated.
Enaryn seems to be slightly unaware of his surroundings for a moment.
Enaryn closes his eyes and looks concentrated.
Tunigjot grins at Enaryn.
Mortarth sings in ancient language: Hmm I thought no casting.

You say to Khorin in ancient language: Such as the respect towards the
elders, the superiors in hierarchical structures or the respect that comes
from learning the strengths and weaknesses of a fellow sentient being.

Mortarth smiles at Enaryn.

You overhear Enaryn whispering to Mortarth in ancient language: Tells are ok,
just no lightshow like a shield :-)

Tunigjot sings to Mortarth in xyllic: Probably goes more for me since Enaryn
is probably unlikely to help Shrinivas.

You say in ancient language: Some forms of respect can be expected, others
have to be earned.
Enaryn snickers.
Khorin nods reluctantly.
Khorin hastily lisps in ancient language: More?

You say in ancient language: While on the other hand, treating people
constantly disrespectful can lead to a loss of respect as well.

*
* Couldn't resist this jibe against his own actions, as he apparently
* wanted to make my lack of respect for him a topic.
*

Miriadriel giggles amusedly.
Khorin nods slightly.

You say in ancient language: You also asked about discipline.
Khorin nods slightly.
You say in ancient language: Discipline is needed to focus ones mind to a
given task.
You say in ancient language: It is also needed in order to stand back and
think before acting perhaps impulsively on outward influence.

Khorin nods slightly.
Ligeia snickers silently.
Tunigjot nods.

You say in ancient language: Depending on the number of incidents that
normally result in disciplined behaviour, discipline can fade and the
reaction become more rash.

*
* Another jibe...
*

Enaryn grins.
Ligeia raises her eyebrow.
Khorin goes hmmmm.
You say in ancient language: There is also a different form of discipline
which you may have wanted to focus on.
You say in ancient language: The one that is required to keep concentrating
on a spell while being under physical assault.
Enaryn mutters a wise word about fairy dragon tickle attacks.
Tunigjot grins at Enaryn.
You ask Khorin in ancient language: Would that answer your question, Master
Khorin?
Khorin goes hmmmm.
Khorin asks you in ancient language:
Whatdoyouknowoftheranksandinnerstructureofourguild?

*
* Again for clarity: What do you know of the ranks and inner structure of our guild?
*

You say in ancient language: The lowest rank in our guild are the apprentices.
Enaryn twinkles his eyes.
Khorin nods.

You say in ancient language: They may only learn those spells that their
bonded master either teaches them directly through some kind of mindlink, or
from scrolls and book under their masters supervision.

You say in ancient language: The next rank is the rank of Master. Masters are
granted more freedom in which spells they learn but they also have more
duties and their actions reflect stronger on the guild as a whole.

Tunigjot nods encouragingly.

You say in ancient language: The next rank is the rank of a summoning master.
They have in addition to the normal spells found in the library the ability
to summon creatures from another plane.

You say in ancient language: The next rank is the rank of the grey mage.
You say in ancient language: The top rank in our guild, apart from two
special posts that are held by awarding greymages, is the awarding grey mage.
Miriadriel seems to be slightly unaware of her surroundings for a moment.
Ligeia slowly shakes her head.
You say in ancient language: The awarding grey mage is able to accept those
untrained in magic and allow them to become apprentices, thus granting them
access to the realm of magic.
Enaryn seems to be slightly unaware of his surroundings for a moment.
Miriadriel's facial features become tense for a moment.

You say in ancient language: Hmm..
You say in ancient language: I think I must correct myself.

*
* Taking Ligeia's head shake as a sign...
*

You say in ancient language: The awarding grey mage is a special form of the
grey mage rank. Hence the grey mage is the highest normal rank.
Enaryn takes a deep breath and looks concentrated.

You say in ancient language: From all the grey mages one is chose as
protector and one as guildmaster.

Pilith smiles quietly.
Ligeia snickers silently.

You say in ancient language: All grey mages form the grey council, while the
protector, the guild master and 5 awarding grey mages form the promotion
council.

You say in ancient language: The promotion council is the body that decides
wether or not to accept new members.
Enaryn looks at his body.

You say in ancient language: And they also vote on the promotions into the
next higher rank of members.

Khorin seems to be slightly unaware of his surroundings for a moment.
Ligeia closes her eyes and looks concentrated.
Ligeia raises her hand.
Khorin nods.
Khorin hastily lisps in ancient language: Nextoneforthetorture.

*
* For clarity: Next one for the torture.
*

Tunigjot sings in xyllic: You again? .....very well Ligeia.
Tunigjot smiles at Ligeia.
Miriadriel sings softly in ancient language: Damn, not quick enough.
Miriadriel smiles.

Ligeia asks you in xyllic: You are in a dark place. What ways do you know
about - or can imagine - to enable to to see in the darkness ?
Khorin takes a deep breath and looks concentrated.
Ligeia seems to be slightly unaware of her surroundings for a moment.
Ligeia holds her head in pain.
Ligeia's facial features become tense for a moment.
Khorin seems to be slightly unaware of his surroundings for a moment.

You say in ancient language: Well, there are a couple of possibilities.
Enaryn smiles curiously.
Enaryn seems to be slightly unaware of his surroundings for a moment.

You say in ancient language: One is e.g. the glowing stone that is inserted
in the metal cage of my bandolier.
Enaryn's eyes narrow and focus onto some point in midair.

You say in ancient language: It is a magical light source.
You say in ancient language: Then there would be non-magical light sources
such as candles, torches or lanterns.
You say in ancient language: I was tought the globe spell, which creates a
magical globe of light, so this would help as well.
You say in ancient language: The ivision spell can be of some help, but that
can depend on the situation.
You say in ancient language: I also know that beyond the apprentice level
there is a light spell, with which one can imbue light onto items.
You say in ancient language: I think there is also a rune that allows the
light spell be bound on ones staff.
Enaryn nods approvingly.
Tunigjot nods delightedly.

Ligeia yells in xyllic: Anything else ?

You say in ancient language: And there is a potion, that when mixed and
shaken, also emits light.
You say in ancient language: One could also transform into a fireshape, that
should also lighten a dark room to some extent, though I never tried out how
much effect that would have on the light level.
Ligeia nods slowly.
Tunigjot asks Ligeia in xyllic: Satisfied?

Ligeia yells in xyllic: In what way is the infravison spell limited you'd say
?
Tunigjot smiles.
Enaryn shakes his head at Tunigjot.
Enaryn grins.
Tunigjot's eyes narrow and focus onto some point in midair.

You say in ancient language: I found it less helpful in dark indoor rooms
than in outdoor rooms.
Enaryn's facial features become tense for a moment.
Tunigjot closes his eyes and looks concentrated.
Enaryn's eyes narrow and focus onto some point in midair.
Ligeia raises her eyebrow.

Ligeia asks you in xyllic: In what way should darkness differ in indoor rooms
from the darkness in outdoor rooms ?
You say in ancient language: I could not see as well with just the ivision
spell in the Elohim caves with the bandit elves than with a globe spell.
You say in ancient language: It might be the amount of light provided through
the enhanced vision that is lower than the light given by a globe of light.
You say in ancient language: Could also just be my masteries, since, when I
tested that, my globe spell was far superiour to my ivision spell.

< Atlantis Magicians > Taru: Greetings, Magicians.

Taru dances in.
< Atlantis Magicians > Shrinivas: Greetings.
Ligeia nods slowly.
< Atlantis Magicians > Enaryn: Greetings Taru, the promotion is still ongoing.
< Atlantis Magicians > Tunigjot: Greetings Taru.
Taru sits down on the bench.
Ligeia yells in xyllic: Next one
Pilith smiles quietly at Taru.
Khorin nods to Taru.
Mortarth nods to Taru.
Tunigjot asks in xyllic: Who is next?
Miriadriel sings softly in ancient language: Hi Taru.
Miriadriel sings softly in ancient language: Hmm.
Enaryn studies the audience.
Miriadriel sings softly in ancient language: I got a question but I'm not sure
whether its appropriate.
You emote: Shrinivas mentions to Tunigjot that Miriadriel wanted to ask earler.
Tunigjot nods to you.
Tunigjot says to Miriadriel in xyllic: Go ahead please.
Miriadriel sings softly in ancient language: But I'm not sure whether it's
apprentice knowledge.
Enaryn closes his eyes and looks concentrated.
Miriadriel sings softly in ancient language: So just tell me if it's not ok.
Ligeia sits up and clambers to her feet.
Suddenly Ligeia turns to stone.
Pilith sits up and clambers to her feet.
Suddenly Pilith turns to stone.
Enaryn seems to be slightly unaware of his surroundings for a moment.
Tunigjot says to Miriadriel in xyllic: If it's not, we will let you know.
Enaryn raises his eyebrow.
The statue of Ligeia crumbles to dust.
The statue of Pilith crumbles to dust.
You are blushing.
Suddenly the ground start to tremble. As you look down you see the head of a
statue appear from the ground, then the body and finally the legs. Just a
second later the statue of Ligeia turns alive.

Miriadriel sings softly in ancient language: Well I talked to Maedhros 'bout
that topic in my apprentice time so perhaps you can tell me who the first
necros have been and whether they always have been only using necromancy?

Ligeia sits down on the bench.
Tunigjot sings to Miriadriel in xyllic: It's more historical but it is
certainly worth knowing.
You say in ancient language: I did not delve into the history of necromancy.
You say in ancient language: Therefore, sorry, I cannot answer that question.
You overhear Miriadriel whispering to Tunigjot in ancient language: And it's
in my book too, at least the first part of the question.
Miriadriel smiles.
Tunigjot smiles at Miriadriel.
You say in ancient language: I try to keep up to date with which necromancers
have been seen lately.
You say in ancient language: And of those, I only have met one, and that one
before she became a necromancer.
Miriadriel sings softly in ancient language: It might be an interesting topic
for you cause then you will see how our guilds really connect
Enaryn mutters they kill us, we kill them...
You say to Miriadriel in ancient language: I will surely find the time to
study this subject.
Suddenly the ground start to tremble. As you look down you see the head of a
statue appear from the ground, then the body and finally the legs. Just a
second later the statue of Pilith turns alive.

Tunigjot sings in xyllic: We can talk about it some more at a later time.
Save to say that many necros started out in this guild.
Pilith sits down on the bench.
Enaryn smiles silently.
Enaryn sings in ancient language: Not even Bhaal accepts Alliance mages...
Tunigjot chuckles.
You say to Enaryn in ancient language: You mean the other way round.
Tunigjot asks Miriadriel in xyllic: Does that satisfy your question?
Enaryn twinkles his eyes at you.
Miriadriel sings softly in ancient language: Well if he does not know he does
not know.
You say to Enaryn in ancient language: Because the one necromancer that I do
know is Celeste, and she had been for some time even a council member of the
alliance mages.
Tunigjot nods to Miriadriel.
Miriadriel sings softly in ancient language: So how will he satisfy me with
his answer then?
Enaryn sings in ancient language: Ok, an exception...
Tunigjot sings in xyllic: Satisfy does not mean you liked the answer.
Tunigjot sings in xyllic: Not necessarly anyhow.
Miriadriel sings softly in ancient language: Well no I'm not satisfied at all.
I like the answer 'cause its honest.
Tunigjot nods to Miriadriel.
Miriadriel shrugs.
Miriadriel sings softly in ancient language: It's ok
Miriadriel sings softly in ancient language: You can't know everything so go
on please...
Tunigjot asks in xyllic: Who is next?
Enaryn points at Taru.
Tunigjot sings in xyllic: Very well. Taru?
Enaryn taps his foot.

Miriadriel sings softly in ancient language: Hmm I would have another one if
hes too sleepy
Pilith looks at Taru expectantly.
Enaryn shrugs.
Tunigjot goes hmmmm.
Mortarth rise a hand
Khorin raises his hand.
Tunigjot sings in xyllic: Oh my.
Enaryn grins amusedly.
Miriadriel laughs.

Tunigjot sings in xyllic: So we got Miriadriel, Mortarth, Khorin.
Tunigjot sings in xyllic: And Taru when he wakes up.

Miriadriel sings softly in ancient language: Ok we talked bout different ways
of enlightening a room.

Enaryn sings in ancient language: And me to finish the promotion test.
Enaryn grins at Tunigjot.

Miriadriel sings softly in ancient language: What diffferent ways of healing
do you know?
Tunigjot grins at Enaryn.
Enaryn closes his eyes and looks concentrated.
Miriadriel looks up to you.
Tunigjot's facial features become tense for a moment.
Pilith closes her eyes and looks concentrated.
Enaryn's eyes narrow and focus onto some point in midair.
Tunigjot's facial features become tense for a moment.
Enaryn's eyes narrow and focus onto some point in midair.

You say in ancient language: There are 4 potions of differing strength, you
can visit a healer, ask a cleric or priest, you can of course cast touch or
touch+, if you know them, and heal if the healing is renedered on someone
else.

Pilith closes her eyes and looks concentrated.

You say in ancient language: I think I heard that eating certain herbs might
heal you slightly, but I never tried eating raw herbs, so I am not sure there.
Enaryn takes a deep breath and looks concentrated.
Khorin gets a wooden herbpipe from the backpack.
Khorin gets three floans from a herbbag.
Tunigjot smiles sceptically at Khorin.
Miriadriel smiles.
Khorin puts three floans into the herbbag.
Tunigjot nods relievedly to Khorin.
Khorin gets three floans from a herbbag.
Tunigjot cringes in terror.
Khorin snickers evilly.
Enaryn carefully traces the required runes for his spell.
Khorin puts three floans into the pipe.
Khorin lights his wooden herbpipe.
Khorin inhales some white smoke from his herbpipe.
Enaryn gestures certain patterns necessary for a spell.
Khorin giggles loudly.

You say in ancient language: Diseases can only be healed by priests and I
think those knights you mentioned in your book can heal diseases and wounds
as well.

A wooden herbpipe flies from Khorin towards Enaryn.
Enaryn puts a wooden herbpipe into the backpack.
Pilith goes ack!
Khorin growls slightly.
Tunigjot giggles silently.
Pilith carefully watches Enaryn's backpack.

You say in ancient language: The plague you can just outwait...
You say in ancient language: Provided you make sure you are not reinfected
and can stop the bleeding when it occurs.

Enaryn closes his eyes and looks concentrated.
Tunigjot watches for signs of smoke from Enaryn's backpack.

You say in ancient language: Which leads to the medical skills of first aid,
to stop bleedings and medical to set broken bones.

Enaryn comforts Tunigjot.
Khorin hastily lisps to Enaryn in ancient language:
Ohopeyouhaveextinguishedthepipe...
Khorin grins slightly.
Enaryn nods to Khorin.
Enaryn gets a wooden herbpipe from the backpack.
Enaryn looks at the wooden herbpipe.
Enaryn offers a wooden herbpipe to Khorin.
You say in ancient language: There are also other ways to heal.
You shiver.
You overhear Tunigjot whispering to Khorin in xyllic: No respect for you ;-)
Enaryn offers a wooden herbpipe to Khorin.
Miriadriel listens carefully.
You say in ancient language: But they are of necromantic origin. Such as the
grey bloodcovered blade or the bat dagger, which when used transfer part of
the victims life to the user of the accursed weapons.
Enaryn offers a wooden herbpipe to Khorin.
Ligeia goes hmmmm.
Miriadriel goes hmmmm.
Taru sings in xyllic: I think you asked surely many questions so far.
Taru sings in xyllic: If you are done I may have one or two more.
Enaryn sings in ancient language: Oh, we have many upcoming...
Enaryn grins.
Tunigjot laughs.
Ligeia shakes her head at Taru.
Miriadriel giggles.
Ligeia yells in xyllic: Not many, only few, but those in length
Tunigjot asks you in xyllic: Done with your answer?
You nod.
Miriadriel sings softly in ancient language: I'm fine with the answer.
Miriadriel smiles.
Tunigjot nods happily.
Miriadriel sings softly in ancient language: And satisfied as you asked
earlier.
Tunigjot sings in xyllic: Well as long as Taru is awake?
Tunigjot eyes Taru.
You say to Tunigjot in ancient language: Was waiting to Miriadriel to clarify
her question in case my answer was not sufficient.
Tunigjot nods to you.
Khorin seems to be slightly unaware of his surroundings for a moment.
Tunigjot asks in xyllic: Taru ?
Taru sings in xyllic: Ok
Tunigjot sings in xyllic: Aha!

Taru sings in xyllic: I go into another direction
Tunigjot smiles at Taru.

Taru sings in xyllic: Lets say a necromancer is sighted in the middle of the
market of Elohim who is not outlawed there what will you do when you are
there?
Tunigjot nods slowly.

You ask Taru in ancient language: How do I know it is a necromancer? Is he
with his 'zoo', does he, or she, openly wear visible guild equipment or is
he, or she, personally known to me?

Enaryn grins.
Enaryn nods approvingly to you.

Taru sings in xyllic: Well, ok, lets say, he has the ritual blade and somone
asks the necro "What do you do here, necro?" I think than it is obvious it is
a necro, what do you do then?
You nod.
You say in ancient language: I of course inform the guild about the presence
of the necromancer.
Taru sings in xyllic: Ok, and would you do something else?
You say in ancient language: I then try to remember his face, so that I may
look up a name in one of the court registries or ask around.
Enaryn sings in ancient language: mumbles 'If that would be so easy...'

You say in ancient language: Then I would use the sense spell to check if the
potential is undisturbed.

Taru sings in xyllic: Would you try to make him leave with whatever weapon or
spell?
You say to Taru in ancient language: No.
Pilith smiles almost imperceptibly.
You say in ancient language: I would also make sure my see spell is active so
I would see if he has invisible company.

Taru sings in xyllic: And how about running away? Would you run or stay?
You say in ancient language: As long as I escape the sole attention of our
"friend", I'd stay.
Taru nods.
You say in ancient language: Using the chance to relay information.
Taru sings in xyllic: Ok, I think about another question, please someone else
steps in and ask another?
Enaryn asks in ancient language: Who was next in the long row?
Enaryn grins.
Tunigjot sings in xyllic: Mortarth was next I believe.
Khorin smiles slightly.
Taru grins at you.
Mortarth nods.

Mortarth asks you in ancient language: What make magic useless and how to
solve those problem.
Enaryn slightly rubs his chin.
Enaryn seems to be slightly unaware of his surroundings for a moment.

You say in ancient language: A severe failure with the recharge spell can
drain the magic from one place.
Taru closes his eyes and looks concentrated.
Tunigjot nods agreeably.
Mortarth asks in ancient language: How to solve that?
You say in ancient language: Also, if an enchanted jewel gem named Black Tear
is dropped, the potential is also destroyed.
Enaryn thinks about it, then his face brightens.

You say in ancient language: The solution to this problem is the remagicking
ritual.
Tunigjot nods delightedly.
Mortarth nods.
You say in ancient language: It requires five mages and they drain all their
mana into the area.
Tunigjot asks Mortarth in xyllic: Happy with the answer?
Mortarth nods.
Mortarth sings in ancient language: Yes I am..
You say in ancient language: The book suggested that ample spare mana potions
are made before attempting this ritual.
Tunigjot asks Khorin in xyllic: I believe you were next?
Tunigjot nods to you.
Khorin nods slightly.
Tunigjot sings to you in xyllic: Very nice.

Khorin asks you in ancient language: Whatdoyouknowaboutthehistoryofourguild?

*
* Again, for clarification: What do you know about the history of our guild?
*
Miriadriel giggles.
Khorin smiles innocently.
Enaryn mutters in ancient language: I need a cushion...
Khorin snickers evilly.
You say in ancient language: I am afraid not too much.
Miriadriel did not dare to ask that question.
Pilith takes a soft cushion for the elderly out of her backpack and offers it
to Enaryn.
Khorin sighs disappointedly.
Avery coughs.
Enaryn annoyedly rubs his chin.
You say in ancient language: If memory serves me correctly, our guild was
created by the remnants of a group of so called sorcerors from avalon.
Enaryn gets the cushion from Pilith.
You say in ancient language: For most of known and recorded history, our
guild was the only place in the world that tought magic.
Enaryn seems to be slightly unaware of his surroundings for a moment.
You say in ancient language: Only in recent history the alliance mages were
founded by former members of this guild and established another school of
magic.
Taru takes a deep breath and looks concentrated.
You say in ancient language: I fear that is about it.
Miriadriel mumbles something 'bout necromancers and sorcerers.
Ligeia nods slightly to Miriadriel.
Khorin nods to Miriadriel.
Tunigjot nods to himself.
Enaryn grins.

Taru sings in xyllic: I want to add to the previous question that magic is
useless in the same place where a vortex is set, too.
Taru sings in xyllic: Just for info.

Mortarth nods to Taru.
You thank Taru.
Ligeia nods to Taru.

Enaryn sings in ancient language: Bleh, he stole one of my questions...
Oops, Taru seems to have made a mistake.
Ligeia giggles amusedly.
Tunigjot grins at Enaryn.
Enaryn now sadly has to replace it with something really mean.
Aranaeth comforts Enaryn.
Pilith grins quietly.
Tunigjot sings to Enaryn in xyllic: Shrinivas knew that too.
Tunigjot grins at Enaryn.
Miriadriel whispers: A shock makes it useless too
Enaryn smirks.
Tunigjot asks Khorin in xyllic: Happy with the answer?
Taru sings in xyllic: And a recharge can not only destroy a place when
misscasted but can let the potential drop so no remacgicking is needed but
elevates or an energize.
Khorin hastily lisps in ancient language:
Well,notreally.Butthenextoneshouldcontinue.
Taru sings in xyllic: Just for info.
Tunigjot sings in xyllic: Unfortunately neither you or Ligeia made it into
the history books yet.
Tunigjot grins at Khorin.
Enaryn grins.
Ligeia says to Tunigjot in xyllic: We're patient.
Ligeia nods seriously.
Tunigjot sings in xyllic: Hehe
Khorin snickers happily.
Tunigjot sings in xyllic: Questions anyone?
Ligeia points at Enaryn.
Tunigjot sings in xyllic: Or are we on to the grand Enaryn finale?
Pilith looks at Enaryn.
Enaryn sings in ancient language: Almost.
Ligeia shakes her head.
Taru sings in xyllic: Sure, me, one last one I have.
Tunigjot smiles at Taru.
Enaryn sings in ancient language: Ligeia lacks her answer still.
Ligeia yells in xyllic: I still have a couple of questions left and am still
waiting for the rest of the answer to the first
Enaryn nods to Ligeia.
Khorin grins slightly at Ligeia.
Tunigjot sings in xyllic: Let's go with Taru for now.
Taru sings in xyllic: I just want to know if it is possible to write a scroll
with a spell when you have pink magic ink.
Tunigjot gets a sizable rosewood casket from the backpack.
Tunigjot opens a sizable rosewood casket.
Tunigjot looks at the sizable rosewood casket.
Tunigjot asks in xyllic: Pink?
Tunigjot closes a sizable rosewood casket.
Taru smiles questioningly at you.
Tunigjot puts a sizable rosewood casket into the backpack.
You say in ancient language: I sense a trick question...
Taru sings in xyllic: Waaaa? Never.
Enaryn's eyes narrow and focus onto some point in midair.
Tunigjot chuckles.
Enaryn sings in ancient language: I sense a dropping potential...
Taru asks you in xyllic: Possible or not?
You say in ancient language: Pink is not a colour I encountered in my
experiments or the books.
< Atlantis Magicians > Azure: hello.
Taru sings in xyllic: Ok, next one please.
Taru sings in xyllic: I am done with my questions.
< Atlantis Magicians > Enaryn: Greetings Azure.
Enaryn chuckles.
< Atlantis Magicians > Taru: Hi Azure.
You say in ancient language: If there exists such a thing as pink ink, yes,
you can write a scroll with it.
< Atlantis Magicians > Miriadriel: Hi come to the seminary hall *smile*
Enaryn sings in ancient language: Before Ligeia starts again, I would like to
give Pilith the chance to ask a question.
Enaryn smiles at Ligeia.
Enaryn sings to Ligeia in ancient language: If that goes ok with you?
Avery nods to Enaryn.
Ligeia nods to Enaryn.
Enaryn smiles at Pilith.
Ligeia yells to Pilith in xyllic: Go ahead and strike hard.
Ligeia snickers silently.
Azure dances in.
Pilith asks you in ancient language: You became an apprentice in this Tower
years before I did.
Azure sits down on the bench.
Enaryn mutters in ancient language: The correct answer is 'yes'.
Pilith continues in ancient language: You left at some point, why?

*
* I didn't like that question. Main reason was that there were OOC reasons
* why I switched chars and the ic story was ok To have it questioned in a
* promotion exam felt a LOT out of place to me.
*

Azure smiles quietly.
Taru seems to be slightly unaware of his surroundings for a moment.
You say to Pilith in ancient language: I was told by some members of this
guild that I was learning to quickly and should take a break.
You say in ancient language: I did take them literally.
Pilith asks you in ancient language: So you left the guild because you felt
slighted?
Pilith replies in ancient language: Or rather these lands, for you
stayed in the guild.
You say in ancient language: I took a sabatical. Thats all.
Pilith asks you in ancient language: So you left, because some people thought
that maybe you were not ready for the next step?
You say in ancient language: No.
Pilith asks you in ancient language: You knew better?
Enaryn goes hmmmm.
You say in ancient language: I learned they way I did. Some people thought I
should slow down. I did. Then I came back and all was well.
Pilith goes hmmmm.
Ligeia goes hmmmm.
Enaryn goes hmmmm.
Miriadriel goes hmmmm.
Hmmmmm.

*
* Couldn't help but commenting to the stupid line of question in this manner.
*

Pilith replies in ancient language: So slowing down means you leave the Tower
and be on your own. Will you do it again if you're once again denied what you
think is your right?
Avery ponders the situation.
You say in ancient language: I wasn't denied anything.
Enaryn's facial features become tense for a moment.
You chuckle.
You say in ancient language: Tunigjot tought me, and I learned.
You say in ancient language: Nothing changed.
Pilith closes her eyes and looks concentrated.
Enaryn nods agreeably.
Enaryn asks Pilith in ancient language: Satisfied?
Tunigjot smiles.
Pilith replies in ancient language: I got an answer. Satisfaction has nothing
to do with it.
Pilith smiles.
Enaryn snaps his fingers.
Taru sings in xyllic: Thats a question which is a bit more private, I mean,
anyone is free to take a break whenever he or she wants. Others took a break
because their parents felt ill, whatever.
Enaryn sings in ancient language: We'll start no discussion now, proceed.
Tunigjot sings in xyllic: Greuze took 3 decades I think.
Tunigjot smiles.
Enaryn says to Tunigjot in ancient language: And came back and what was the
result?
Miriadriel sings softly in ancient language: Me took a time too.
Enaryn chuckles.
Tunigjot sings in xyllic: Right.
Taru sings in xyllic: I think Shrini told Tunigjot to even let him abandon
him if he wants to take another apprentice.
Tunigjot sings in xyllic: Taking time is not a bad thing.
Pilith shakes her head.
Pilith remarks in ancient language: I am sorry, I did not ask about taking
time. I asked about leaving the tower for not being allowed to move on.
Pilith blushes.
Enaryn says to Ligeia in ancient language: If you would continue, please,
before we get lost in whatever topics.
Tunigjot smiles at Pilith.
Pilith closes her mouth shut.
Taru sings in xyllic: He did not leave, just was on a travel.
Miriadriel smiles.

: Tunigjot: how does everyones time look....getting late for the
europeans....

*
* The exam had at this point been going on for 2 1/2 @hours.
*

Ligeia yells in xyllic: Travel or not, we can take it into or count or not

: Taru: still ok

Ligeia snickers silently.
Ligeia asks in xyllic: So it is me again then, I presume ?
Tunigjot nods to Ligeia.
You say to Ligeia in ancient language: I still don't know the final bit of
information you asked for.
Enaryn grins.

Ligeia yells to you in xyllic: Let us first assume that one day in the future
you might perhaps get promoted to the ranke of master magician...

Ligeia yells to you in xyllic: This will, as you perhaps might have guessed
by now, enable you to learn a couple of more spells
Tunigjot chuckles.

Ligeia asks you in xyllic: Please name the first 5 spells you would then want
to learn first and explain why you probably want to do that
You say in ancient language: the first would be telec.

Taru gets a scrollcase from the backpack.
Taru opens a scrollcase.
Taru looks at the scrollcase.

You say in ancient language: Grandor tells me every time I enter the tower
with his help to learn it as soon as possible,
Tunigjot grins at Taru.
Taru gets a scroll of dispel from the case.
Taru puts a scroll of dispel into the backpack.
Taru looks at the scrollcase.

You say in ancient language: The second one would be travel, to ease with
travelling around. Although I do have a ship, it can be quite bothersome to
be limited to the ports and having to travel from there.

Enaryn raises his eyebrow.
Enaryn asks in ancient language: You mix travel and teleport?
Tunigjot asks you in xyllic: Sure you mean travel?
Taru sings in xyllic: teleport, I am sure
Enaryn carefully traces the required runes for his spell.
Ligeia goes psst,

You say in ancient language: Teleport I mean
Tunigjot grins at Ligeia.

Ligeia yells in xyllic: Don't confuse him, please
Ligeia snaps her fingers.
Enaryn sings to you in ancient language: Traveling is spooky.

You say in ancient language: Travel lets your spirit travel while leaving
your body behind, if my research on that spell was correct.
Miriadriel smiles.

You say in ancient language: Identify is also high on the want-to-have list,
as it would allow me to learn more about items I already have come to know
but that still hold certain secrets
Taru looks at the scrollcase.

You say in ancient language: swolf or selemental, I really haven't made up my
mind there. I would also have to further research in how far they differ and
which benefits they might have over each other. Having a travel companion
that can really actively assist you is surely beneficial.

Pilith closes her eyes and looks concentrated.
Pilith takes a deep breath and looks concentrated.

You say in ancient language: Last would be spellbind.
You say in ancient language: The elbarion rune has so far been very helpful.
But I burned it twice when learning the forecast spell.
Enaryn grins at Avery.

You say in ancient language: Being able to redraw it myself, and perhaps the
one or other helpful rune, would surely be beneficial.
Avery raises his eyebrow at Enaryn.
Tunigjot sings in xyllic: It will burn out a few more times when you start
working on teleport.
Tunigjot grins at you.
You grin.
Taru seems to be slightly unaware of his surroundings for a moment.
Ligeia asks you in xyllic: What other uses does identify have besides
"getting to know the secrets of items" ?

You say in ancient language: Storm might also be a choice, as it does pack a
bit more "punch" than the iceshard or the fireball, as the kobolds so often
demonstrated.

You say in ancient language: Identify allows you to determine how much more
there is to write when writing scrolls
Ligeia yells in xyllic: What else ?

You say in ancient language: Also, when a scroll is finished, identifying it
allows one to see what kind of scroll it is.
Taru smiles brightly.

You say in ancient language: It also helps with uncovering the mantra of an
unknown scroll or wand.
Enaryn gets a wand of inferno and a wand of web from the backpack.
Enaryn puts a wand of inferno and a wand of web into the backpack.
Ligeia gets a wand of chair from the small left pocket of her old robe.
Tunigjot laughs.
Enaryn gets a waterskin (1l) from the bandolier.
Mortarth smiles.
Enaryn drinks from a waterskin (0l).
Enaryn gestures certain patterns necessary for a spell.
You recognize the spell as water.
Enaryn lifts his hand and his waterskin (0l) is refilled with water.
Enaryn drinks from a waterskin (1l).
Enaryn attaches a waterskin (1l) to his bandolier.
Enaryn gestures certain patterns necessary for a spell.
You recognize the spell as food.

Ligeia asks you in xyllic: What else use does the identify spell have ?
Enaryn lifts his hand and a chocolate cookie appears.
Enaryn eats a chocolate cookie.
Azure gets a waterskin (1l) from the bandolier.
Casoria arrives.
Casoria joins Enaryn's team.
Avery drinks from a wide leather bandolier.
Casoria stops guarding Enaryn.
Casoria steps in front of Enaryn and starts to guard him.
Casoria sits down to rest a while.

You say to Ligeia in ancient language: I know from Taru that a new master may
get the one or other spell as a scroll, but since one has to find the spells
in the library first, well, to be honest, there is no real "order" I would
have. If a nice spell comes up while studying a book, I might out of a whim
decide to learn it.

You are blushing.
Azure drinks from a waterskin (1/4l).

Ligeia yells to you in xyllic: Please answer my questions first
Khorin snickers silently.
Azure attaches a waterskin (1/4l) to his bandolier.
Taru's facial features become tense for a moment.

You say in ancient language: Identify may be useful when dealing with pearls,
line gems and tell gems. But as to how exactly, I would have to study the
spell first in detail.

Tunigjot nods to you.
Enaryn winks at Taru.
Ligeia yells to you in xyllic: A use that is especially helpful for us
tower-dwellers
Khorin nods to Ligeia.
Miriadriel smiles.
Miriadriel has an idea.
You shrug.
You say in ancient language: Sorry, no idea.
Ligeia nods slowly.
You ask Ligeia in ancient language: Care to enlighten me?
Ligeia yells in xyllic: Well, what other uses does teleportation have besides
travelling around ?
Khorin shakes his head at you.
Khorin grins nastily.
You say in ancient language: Teleporting is needed in order to be able to use
wards.
Enaryn ponders the situation.
Enaryn asks in ancient language: How so?

You say in ancient language: With wards you can secure rooms or have a larger
team move to a specific place.
Taru takes a deep breath and looks concentrated.
Ligeia yells in xyllic: Well, I was not talking about wards, but about
teleportation, actually
Khorin's eyes narrow and focus onto some point in midair.
Pilith takes a deep breath and looks concentrated.

You say in ancient language: As I understood wards, they require some kind of
destination, which is taken from the memorized places a mage can teleport to.
Enaryn sings in ancient language: Well, yes, if you want to ward the teleport
spell to an item or door, but ward offers much more possibilites, so your
answer was a bit generalized.
Tunigjot sings to you in xyllic: Thats one use of wards.

You say to Ligeia in ancient language: apart from casual travelling, it can
be used to either flee quickly or to come to someone else aid, but that would
also qualify as travelling around in a stricter sense

Ligeia yells in xyllic: Well, yes, but what else can you do with
teleportation, except travelling around ?

You say to Enaryn in ancient language: Without having the spell at ones
disposal, not having fully researched each and every spell in existance, I
can only draw from my personal experience, and therefore generalize

You say to Ligeia in ancient language: I am not sure, but I think one can
also teleport objects to other persons with that spell
Enaryn smiles.
Miriadriel smiles.
Tunigjot nods to you.
Taru seems to be slightly unaware of his surroundings for a moment.
Ligeia nods slightly.
Enaryn's facial features become tense for a moment.

Ligeia asks you in xyllic: And do you also know the requirements for this ?
You say in ancient language: no
Enaryn seems to be slightly unaware of his surroundings for a moment.
Ligeia nods slowly.
Tunigjot nods seriously to Enaryn.
You say in ancient language: I guess weight or magical power of the object
might play a role though
Enaryn shakes his head.

Ligeia asks you in xyllic: Then, what uses do you know for the spellbind
spell, other than the binding of the elbarion rune, which you know by now ?
Taru seems to be slightly unaware of his surroundings for a moment.
Taru closes his eyes and looks concentrated.

You say in ancient language: There were a couple of interesting runes
mentioned in the library. Apart from Elbarion there was the inirdaeon rune
which improved the effect of the casted spell that interested me and two
others but those need additional spells in order to be useful.
Taru holds up 3 fingers.

Ligeia asks you in xyllic: Which runes ? If you don't know their name, then
just state their behaviour

Tunigjot looks at Taru.
Avery's facial features become tense for a moment.
Tunigjot looks at Taru's fingers confusedly.

You say in ancient language: The rune that allows you to store mana, it needs
the transfer spell to work, the rune to increase the power and and the rune
that allows you to store another spell in the staff, an attack spell e.g.

Mortarth gets a waterskin (1l) from the bandolier.
Mortarth drinks from a waterskin (0l).
Mortarth attaches a waterskin (0l) to his bandolier.
Tunigjot nods slowly.
Ligeia asks you in xyllic: What other runes have you heard of or read about ?

Khorin gestures certain patterns necessary for a spell.
You recognize the spell as food.
Khorin lifts his hand and a chocolate ration appears.
You say in ancient language: A rune to light the staff with a mantra. storing
the light spell effectively, a rune that changes the way how you travel,
needs the crift spell, and a rune that allows you to fetch your staff through
the dimensions, with the recall spell, should you ever get separated from
your staff.
Khorin eats a chocolate ration.
Khorin gets a waterskin (1l) from the bandolier.
Khorin drinks from a waterskin (0l).
Khorin carefully traces the required runes for his spell.
Khorin lifts his hand and his waterskin (0l) is refilled with water.
Ligeia nods slowly.

Ligeia asks you in xyllic: Are there uses of the spellbind spell beside the
binding of runes to a long wooden staff ?
Khorin attaches a waterskin (1l) to his bandolier.
Tunigjot nods delightedly.
Tunigjot's facial features become tense for a moment.
Ligeia raises her eyebrow at Tunigjot.
Enaryn takes a deep breath and looks concentrated.
You say in ancient language: I assume so. However, the rune behaviour of the
spell was what got me interested in it.
Ligeia nods slowly.
Tunigjot's eyes narrow and focus onto some point in midair.

Ligeia yells in xyllic: You also stated summoning the fenris wolf or an
elemental as one of the preferred spells
Tunigjot's eyes narrow and focus onto some point in midair.
Taru closes his eyes and looks concentrated.
Ligeia yells in xyllic: Please explain the difference as far as you were
taught.
Enaryn seems to be slightly unaware of his surroundings for a moment.
Enaryn takes a deep breath and looks concentrated.
You chuckle.
You say in ancient language: I wasn't tought anything on any of them at all.
Tunigjot nods to you.
Ligeia asks you in xyllic: So then tell all you have learned about them by
other means.
You say in ancient language: I think for the elemental one needs a pentagram,
just like with a creature.
Enaryn nods agreeably.
You say in ancient language: The fenris wolf requires a magcial herbs, I
think a floan, to be summoned
Enaryn agrees.
Tunigjot nods.
Ligeia goes hmmmm.
Ligeia yells in xyllic: Well, not completely satisfied, but well...
Ligeia yells in xyllic: Going back to my first question then
Enaryn grins.
Miriadriel goes hmmmm.
You say in ancient language: Still the same answer
Taru leans back.
Ligeia yells to you in xyllic: Since you have had lots of time not to
consider...
Miriadriel sings softly in ancient language: Would be interesting to know how
many of the present persons know what ligeia is talking about
Enaryn sings in ancient language: I do.
Taru sings in xyllic: Wasn't here
Taru shrugs.
Khorin grins slightly.
Pilith whispers in ancient language: I do.
Ligeia asks you in xyllic: What lifeforms exist on this plane of this world
who can use magic beyond our and also their own understanding ?
Miriadriel sings softly in ancient language: What life form besides mage
priest psionic and bard is using magic?
Miriadriel sings softly in ancient language: Oh forgot the druids there
Pilith whispers in ancient language: Beyond their own understanding.
Enaryn grins slightly.
Ligeia says to Miriadriel in xyllic: Well, the lifeform surely can become a
member of one of those guilds as well.
Ligeia snickers silently.
Ligeia silently mumbles in xyllic: Almost...
Khorin asks Pilith in ancient language: Besidesapps?
Khorin snickers happily.
Pilith smiles at Khorin.
Taru sings in xyllic: I think it is Ankheg with its acid, stupid dumb thing.
Taru nods seriously.
Ligeia raises her eyebrow at you.
Taru sings in xyllic: Doesn't even know what it has there.
Avery carefully polishes his dragonfly wings and wipes off the dust of his
travels.
Enaryn sings in ancient language: I doubt he will solve that question.
Pilith yells in ancient language: mutters something that sounds a lot like
'men'.
Ligeia nods sadly to Enaryn.
Aranaeth comforts Ligeia.
Miriadriel sings softly in ancient language: I got no idea what you where
talking about.
Azure puts four platinum coins, nine silver coins, seven copper coins and ten
gold coins into the sash.
Enaryn says to Ligeia in ancient language: Maybe explain him what you mean.
Enaryn smiles.
Ligeia yells in xyllic: Well... back to identify first then
Khorin nods seriously.
Khorin smiles.
Taru seems to be slightly unaware of his surroundings for a moment.

Ligeia yells to you in xyllic: The missing use of the identify spell is, to
gather information about the current mantra of the tower portal - which does
only work on the inside, of course
Enaryn's eyes narrow and focus onto some point in midair.

Taru sings in xyllic: I want to add most of the mages does not know this.

Azure's fingers move around, tracing magical patterns.
Azure lifts his hand and a tasty apple appears.
Enaryn raises his eyebrow.
Azure eats a tasty apple.

Taru sings in xyllic: They ask always Grandor over the line.
Taru sings in xyllic: Really.
Ligeia yells to you in xyllic: So, if you want to learn the telec spell to
keep Grandor less busy, you should of course learn identify as well.
Ligeia yells to you in xyllic: And finally, to solve the riddle of the
lifeforms...
Azure says to Taru in ancient language: I would suggest most people forget to
check the seal when they leave the tower and when they remember they have
already teleported to another continent.
Khorin nods to Azure.
Enaryn smiles at Ligeia.

Ligeia yells to you in xyllic: The Dwarves can detect magic on gems where we
are only able to do so by using spells... they also can create magic weapons
and items without the actual use of magic spells

Taru says to Azure in xyllic: I was not told this and found it out by myself
with Jana, I think Khorin gave us the hint.
Miriadriel goes hmmmm.
Miriadriel sings softly in ancient language: At least I was on the right way
Taru smiles at Khorin.
Enaryn grins amusedly.
Enaryn nods.
Azure looks at Ligeia.
Enaryn sings in ancient language: As the questions were solved now, may I
close the round?
Taru says to Ligeia in xyllic: Eeeerm, you know, some mages have another
understanding of this.
Ligeia yells in xyllic: But well, I have no more questions to ask right now
Tunigjot nods to Enaryn.
Enaryn nods agreeably.
Avery raises his eyebrow at Enaryn.
Taru says to Ligeia in xyllic: About dwarves and gems and magic weapons.
Azure sings in ancient language: Well at least they still need us to sort gem
dusts, as far as I know.

Enaryn sings in ancient language: Silence, boys.
Enaryn asks you in ancient language: I will not bother you for long, no
worries. What can you tell me about magic symbols?

Khorin snickers.
You say in ancient language: They are needed as a magical focus for ones
spells.
Enaryn nods.
Enaryn asks in ancient language: Which ones you know then?

You say in ancient language: Mages normally use a staff, necromancers use
their ritual blade.
Enaryn nods agreeably.
You say in ancient language: I am sure there are a number of artefacts
around, which I didn't stumble across that can also serve as foci.
Enaryn nods.
Enaryn sings in ancient language: That's true, but let's stay with the normal
staves for now.
Enaryn sings in ancient language: What do you need to know when you handle
staves?
Enaryn sings in ancient language: Or magic symbols in general.
You say in ancient language: Never ever give a magical staff to another mage
without making sure the other person knows exactly what you are going to do.
Enaryn nods.
Enaryn asks in ancient language: And why so?

You say in ancient language: That is necessary, because if two magical foci
come in too close a procimity, they overload and explode
Enaryn asks in ancient language: Both of them?

You say in ancient language: Therefore, the mage that is given a staff,
usually has to store his own away first, e.g. by dropping it in a disc or
handing it to a creature.
Enaryn nods agreeably.

You say in ancient language: Well, with staves I don't know. with other
magical items, such as pyramids or glowing stones, both explode

You say in ancient language: Since I know with stones and pyramids, I assumed
it would be the same with staves

Enaryn sings to you in ancient language: A good hint...if you have 2
magicians in a team with you and both die, make sure someone takes at least
one staff away from the corpses.

Enaryn sings in ancient language: Else the corpses will decay, both staves
will go to the floor and there we have the damage.

Taru sings in xyllic: Preserve
Taru smiles intelligently.
Enaryn twinkles his eyes.
Enaryn nods.
Enaryn sings in ancient language: That's a possibility.
Enaryn goes hmmmm.
Enaryn asks you in ancient language: Were you informed about black round rock
with a shining patina?
Tunigjot shakes his head.
Enaryn nods.
Avery carefully polishes his dragonfly wings and wipes off the dust of his
travels.
Enaryn says to Tunigjot in ancient language: Maybe do this in the near future.
Enaryn smiles.
Enaryn sings in ancient language: Before he learns teleport.
Enaryn grins.
Tunigjot nods agreeably.
Enaryn nods.
Mortarth sings in ancient language: That will also happen if tale a ritual
blade from a corpse.
Enaryn nods to Mortarth.
Enaryn sings in ancient language: Indeed.
Enaryn goes hmmmm.

Enaryn sings in ancient language: So, for now: Do _you_ think you are ready
to go on?

Taru sings in xyllic: A hint, always preserve the summoning master or grey
mage corpse first, the spell book is glued to the corpse then else when the
corpse decays the spellbook is stuck on the ground and cant be taken away.

Enaryn points at you.
Taru smiles hopefully.
Enaryn nods to Taru.
You nod to Enaryn.

You say in ancient language: I think so, yes.

Enaryn asks in ancient language: Why do you think so?
Enaryn smiles curiously.
Enaryn sings in ancient language: What do you think you can give the guild?
Enaryn sings in ancient language: Since it gave you much...

You say in ancient language: My devotion and time.
Enaryn nods.
Enaryn asks in ancient language: Is there something special you want to
achieve? A special research project which interests you maybe?

You say in ancient language: well, a possibility for all the fairies out
there to at least visit "home" for a short period might be a worthy project.
Even if it is of little interest to non-fairies.

Avery raises his eyebrow.
Enaryn nods understandingly.
Tunigjot nods slowly.
Enaryn sings in ancient language: I feared that...
Enaryn grins.
Avery frowns.
Taru chuckles.
Enaryn says to Tunigjot in ancient language: I am done. Set up your final
question then.
Enaryn smiles.
Tunigjot sings in xyllic: Oh my FINAL question?!
Tunigjot thoughtfully rubs his chin.
Azure's facial features become tense for a moment.
Taru sings in xyllic: Heard enough. I am done.
Avery raises his eyebrow at Enaryn.
Enaryn sings in ancient language: Yeah, you know...'Does anybody with the
rank of Greymage have objections...'
Azure seems to be slightly unaware of his surroundings for a moment.
Tunigjot sings in xyllic: Well we can keep this simple. Does anyone have any
objection to the promotion of Shrinivas at this time?
Ligeia goes hmmmm.
Khorin hastily lisps in ancient language: Yes.

*
* I expected that...
*

Taru sings in xyllic: No.
Mortarth shakes his head.
Miriadriel sings softly in ancient language: Of course khorin
Miriadriel giggles.
Tunigjot turns towards Khorin.
Miriadriel sings softly in ancient language: Not me.
Enaryn sings in ancient language: The Grey Magicians were asked.
Enaryn looks at Ligeia.
Ligeia yells in xyllic: Well, he should at least study harder from now on,
since I think that his education is incomplete

*
* Well, I just didn't bother too much with reading all that IC history stuff
* that rarely ever comes up. So... sue me *grin wickedly*
*

Enaryn asks Ligeia in ancient language: Incomplete enough to deny his
promotion?
Miriadriel sings softly in ancient language: Oh didn't get that in the talking.
Ligeia yells in xyllic: Incomplete enough to have him guide in a way or
another still
Enaryn asks Khorin in ancient language: You named objections?
Tunigjot sings in xyllic: He won't be gone from here he will get plenty of
guidance still.
Tunigjot asks Khorin in xyllic: Please state your concerns?
Pilith peers at Tunigjot.
Tunigjot asks Pilith in xyllic: Hmm?
Taru closes his eyes and looks concentrated.
Enaryn looks at Khorin.
Khorin hastily lisps in ancient language:
Heneedstolearnmorerespect,disciplineandacertainattitudeagainsthigherrankedmagesinsomecases
Pilith translateses in ancient language: Khorin says he needs to learn more
respect, discipline and a certain attitude against higher ranked mages in
some cases.

*
* Would have loved to simply tell Khorin to stick it. After all, he was the first to
* treat me with disrespect. And just because he is so much longer in this guild doesn't
* grant him any right to treat others with disrespect. At least that is my view on it.
*

Tunigjot thanks Pilith.
Miriadriel giggles.
Enaryn nods agreeably.
You grin at Khorin.
Tunigjot sings in xyllic: That's a good lesson for all mages.
Tunigjot nods agreeably.
Enaryn sings in ancient language: That can be looked after of course.
Enaryn asks in ancient language: So we agree on that the apprentice still
needs to be guided in some ways, but otherwise can proceeed?
Taru nods.
Khorin goes hmmmm.
Tunigjot asks Ligeia in xyllic: Are you fine with that?
Ligeia nods extremely slowly.
Tunigjot says to Ligeia in xyllic: You are welcome to instill your wisdom
when you have time.
Khorin hastily lisps in ancient language: Andwhoshallguidehim?
Tunigjot smiles at Ligeia.
Miriadriel goes hmmmm.
Enaryn says to Khorin in ancient language: All members will do so, and
Tunigjot in special I am sure.
Tunigjot says to Khorin in xyllic: I will still be mentoring him.
Khorin nods slowly to Tunigjot.
Pilith quietly points at Khorin.
Taru closes his eyes and looks concentrated.
Taru's eyes narrow and focus onto some point in midair.
Ligeia says to Tunigjot in xyllic: I have been used to instruct prematurely
promoted apprentices since ages.
Tunigjot says to Khorin in xyllic: Not calling him flutterbug might help
things too.
Tunigjot grins at Khorin.
Enaryn says to Tunigjot in ancient language: That statement from you...
Enaryn amusedly shakes his head.
Tunigjot grins at Enaryn.
Khorin hastily lisps in ancient language: Bah,thatfromalongear.
Khorin snickers happily.
You nod heavily to Tunigjot.
Tunigjot chuckles.
Taru seems to be slightly unaware of his surroundings for a moment.
Enaryn sings in ancient language: Ok, then the decision is done.
Enaryn sings in ancient language: I insist on a detection ritual nevertheless.
You say in ancient language: Sure.
You smile.
Tunigjot asks Enaryn in xyllic: Cut the bond first or after?
Ligeia nods to Enaryn.
Enaryn sings in ancient language: After.
Tunigjot nods to Enaryn.
Miriadriel whispers loudly to Khorin: You know respect is earned with respect?
Khorin snickers happily.
You smile amusedly at Miriadriel.
Khorin smiles at Miriadriel.
Enaryn sings in ancient language: I will take part, Tunigjot, Shrinivas of
course, I like to have Khorin in.
Tunigjot nods.
Enaryn asks in ancient language: a fifth?
Taru sings in xyllic: if none wants, I am going to do it
Taru stretches his legs and stands up gracefully.
Khorin hastily lisps to Miriadriel in ancient language:
Really?Thoughtisaboutrank...

*
* No wonder many atlantis mages are seen as arrogant sons of bitches...
*

You say in ancient language: So I am third?
Khorin grins teasingly at Miriadriel.
Enaryn nods to you.
Tunigjot asks in xyllic: Order?
Enaryn sings in ancient language: Tunigjot will lead please and Taru finishes.
Tunigjot nods.
Taru nods.
Enaryn sings in ancient language: I do 2nd.
Enaryn sings in ancient language: Khorin 4th.
Khorin nods to Enaryn.
Miriadriel goes hmmmm.

Tunigjot performs some gestures and looks concentrated.
Tunigjot sings in ancient language: arthe eglion maruk
Enaryn takes the neighbours by the hands.
You emote: Shrinivas takes the neighbours by the hands.
Khorin takes the neighbours by the hands.
Taru sings in ancient language: ermonos eglion deos

Tunigjot glows in a bright white light.

Enaryn smiles.
Enaryn sings in ancient language: Nice.
Tunigjot sings in ancient language: Bright white all.
You say in ancient language: Of course.
Taru sings in ancient language: Only bright at me? No shiny glittering?
Miriadriel smiles.
Tunigjot sings in ancient language: Ok. I will cut the bond.

Ligeia says to Taru in xyllic: Shiny glittering it was.
Ligeia nods seriously.
Taru thanks Ligeia.
Tunigjot holds his head in pain.
Taru grins.
Tunigjot's facial features become tense for a moment.
Ligeia says to Taru in xyllic: Of deepest pitch black.
Taru sings in ancient language: Oh my.
Ligeia grins at Taru.

Khorin snickers happily.

Enaryn sings in ancient language: Neither should paralyse.

Tunigjot sings to you in ancient language: I can hang on to it if you like
me to.
Taru sings in ancient language: For this tough exam, I think he really
deserve those many scrolls.
Enaryn asks in ancient language: Or did we deliver it to the alliance yet?
Ligeia yells to you in xyllic: Learn as soon as possible, as the mantra is
tricky: hp
Pilith arrives.
It gets lighter.
You look at the scroll of energy.
This is a scroll with something written on it. You can read it.
Pilith shivers.
